My fiancee and I are filling out the DS-160 online, which is "Business & Tourist (temporary visitor)(B1/B2)". She is from Ecuador and she is a full-time teacher at elementary school. She wants to come to the U.S. to visit me and her siblings. I'm a U.S. citizen. My question is about in the family section of the form, one of the questions is about the immediate relative. On the right-hand side, there is a help section where " the fiance/fiancee, husband or wife is regarded as an immediate relative". She already put her siblings in that section and we don't know if she should also put me as her fiancee on that section.

Do you think that if she put me in that section it will affect a visa refusal?

People say that if she put me as fiancee on that section, immigration officers could deny her visa because they might think that she pretends to stay in the U.S. and doesn't come back her country.

Thank you so much for any help.

If it asks for it, she had better put it in...  Not entering that data correctly in there would be misrepresentation, which can lead to a denial at best, and a bar on entry (potentially permanent) at worst...

Regardless of what she puts on the form, they will assume she will overstay, the same as they assume for every B2 applicant worldwide, as that is what they have to do by law.

It is up to the applicant to convince them otherwise.

Tell the truth, easier to remember.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The instructions you quoted are pretty clear on whether she should list you in that section.
