For some reason my older sister havent travellied with VWP but has sucessfully obtained B2 and visited USA once without any problems.By the that time she has been married, but now divorced. Will her divorce make her problems at POE at her future visits? She is older woman  ( 56) has 2 jobs and property  in Sweden and no any intentions to immigrate or illegaly work in USA.

Thank you so much for your answers.

if she already has a B2 coming and go will not be an issue, as long as intent is established at POE

Her divorce has nothing to do with her visitor status. Regardless if they went to get the visa together, they are still processed separately and her current marital status is irrelevant for tourism purposes. She shouldn’t have any issues but that’s always at the officer discretion

Her intent is : 2 weeks vacation, will stay at friends house  ( an older american couple), visit interesting places with them and fly back home to Sweden. She will have return ticket, enough money to support herself and  ( if needed) a letter from her boss at work.

She is concerned at be pulled at 2nd inspektion because of her recent divorce, but I hope that will not be a case

I do't think the CBP officers will have any knowledge of that........no worries.

I agree!

He/she will more concerned about the reason of her visit and the amount of time she will stay.

OP

I strongly recommend you to tell your sister, just answer strictly what the officer asks her and no more. Disclosing non asked information can be more harm than good. The officer doesn’t need to know about her recent divorce or her intimate life, so she is in her right if not disclosing it.

Im telling you this becauss this must be a concern for her as well, otherwise you wouldn’t be here asking, so tell her to stick by whatever the officer asks her

When my mom comes to visit for example is always the same question: what are you doing here/plans. My mom’s answer: “I’m visiting my daughter and grandson”. If they ask her for how long she says the exact day she is returning. That’s it! She never mentions if she has the money or not, or if her boss knows she coming or anything like that. Having that info it won’t harm her and useful if she needs it but more likely she wont. My mom is her same age

Thank you so much. I'm not sure if ( she has applied  for B2 as married woman) officer could see on display her marital status or not. Hopefully he will not ask so she will not explain. I knew that everyone and everything is suspicious to them, therefore her concern.

I’m not clear why you’re so hung up on this. When they issue multi-year multiple entry visas, they are well aware that people’s life circumstances can change during the validity period of the visa. If her situation at the time of issuance was so critical to it being granted she would have been granted a very limited period, possibly even single entry visa. We’ve seen people on here being issued visas with 2 month validity for entry for a single noted purpose.

Susie QQQ, her visa is 10 yrs valid. Yes, your comment is exactly what I have told her, everything could happen in 10 yrs. She has divorced about 4 months after the visa was issued, but travelled to USA alone without husband before- one week after she has got B2.She is afraid because she has read a lot of horror stories about 2nd inspections or even returning back home. So she is just overthinking I guees.
