Good luck :)

I think it is worth it since their process is very slow. Rescheduling the appointment might delay your application another month or two.

Great! So what are the next steps after the biometrics appointment? Did your case status ever change?

Next steps are to wait now. Unfortunately, I have checked my online case tracker for the first time in a week, and saw I have been mailed an RFE! I feel it might be related to the I-864. Guess I will wait and see.

I hope everything will get back on track for you soon. Was it hard to get a job with an OPT? I see that everyone on their website is filing from K1. Do you know if there’s an F1 thread?

Sorry I am just seeing this! I never was able to get a job on OPT because my OPT was denied. My ISS advisor put an incorrect recommended date on my I20 (2 months earlier than when I filed) so my application was denied as it was considered a late submission.

I've prepared a response for my RFIE. Thanks again for your help! If anyone would like, I can post a copy of the cover letter I wrote up with all I included in the response. For reference, my RFIE was related to my I-485, particularly the affidavit of support. I was asked to show additional proof that my sponsor/spouse made the necessary income for our family. I think I got this RFIE because we didn't include 2017 tax returns as my spouse hadn't filed yet.

I've got an RFE coming in the post according to my tracker. I feel it's related to I-485 too, as my wife hadn't filed her 2017  tax returns yet. It sucks, as we did send what they asked for, 'most recent', which for us was her 2016!

I know, it's very frustrating. My husband was annoyed at the claim that he doesn't make enough even though we sent in his W2s. Furthermore, tax transcripts aren't available until April for each tax year.

According to informed delivery, I have mail from USCIS coming today. I guess it's my RFE, so we will see what it is!

Turns out my RFE is an RFIE which resets my clock, ugh.

I'm also annoyed because I had submitted what they're asking!

It's saying I didn't submit sufficient evidence, and that I've submitted secondary evidence and/or a birth affidavit as proof of my birth record.

The copy of my birth certificate I sent in a certified copy of an entry, which came from the general register office (logo in bottom right corner). It has my parents full names on it, my date and place of birth, signature of registrar etc.

So what exactly do they want me to submit? I'm confused.
