Can you please give me guidance on how and what best way to update my address in the petition. We checked in USCIS and there an online to update the adress but it is only for the Petitioner.

Any help is much appreciated.

This is a fun part. It's annoying as hell, but super fun.

So, it seriously depends on the consulate nearest to you(the beneficiary). I definitely do not have a list of what each and every consulate does. If someone has this, please PM me, I want to know lol.

Anyways, many consulates are switching to electronic packets, which means you will receive instructions electronically via e-mail. Some consulates require the beneficiary to go down to the consulate to pick up the packet in person.

If this does not apply for you, what needs to happen is, after you have received your NOA2, USCIS will mail your petition to NVC. NVC is the organisation that distributes approved petitions to consulates globally after running more background checks.

Once the petitioner receive the hardcopy of NO2, it will include instructions on how and when to contact NVC. There are actually instructions on VisaJourney as well.

When NVC has received your petition, and only when they have received it, you may request them to update the beneficiary address on the petition by calling them. Sometimes, this is unnecessary and if it is, NVC will advise you as such. Always best to check with NVC and the nearest consulate!

Anyways, the above is not 100% foolproof. If NVC has already sent out your petition to the embassy, you will have to contact the embassy via e-mail and let them know your NVC case number(not USCIS case number; it's another number you receive from NVC after approval) so they can retrieve your case for you.

But seriously, sometimes this all doesn't matter. It 100% depends on the embassy nearest to you.

Hope this helps and good luck! xx

As long as the country is the same, there is no need to update the beneficiary's address at this juncture.  That can easily be done when the time comes to fill out the DS-260.
