Well now I've seen it all!! lol.

I guess if it were a matter of life or death I'd have it done but really, just to "feel better about yourself"???? Losing your virginity isn't just the act of ripping the hymen. It's very much a spiritual and mental act as well........and that you cannot have sewed back up.

Also, are there not (irreversible) biochemical changes which occur after the first sexual act?

I don't know of biochemical changes, but what's done is done, she won't feel like a virgin again unless she finds a doc who's able to erase her memory!!!! The surgery won't make her a virgin again. Just the body seems to be one.

I think what the girl did not admit is that she did it in order to be marry-able in her society and to avoid even worse events such as honor killings. It's going on all over Europe. I pretty much understand the girls because they fear their families, they grew up in Europe and have a different way of life but that can be dangerous, depending on the family, so they rather do the surgery.

Better to fix the 's with their crazy religious and social beliefs but I guess getting a new hymen is easier.

sadly, this can be a life or death situation for some women...if a bride is found not to be a virgin then the marriage is over with before it began.....and the bride's family revenges her for the family's lost of honor...

also, it is not uncommon, for the groom's mother to take the future bride to a doctor to make certain she is a virgin before the marriage is allowed...

all true events, in some Muslim cultures

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I don't know how the doc would figure that out without actually breaking the hymen himself.

My husband says that normally on the wedding day the most important moment is when the bride and groom go to the bedroom. Most of the people wait outside and the groom puts something on his weiner that is made of cotton and then once he's penetrated he goes outside showing the blood and everyone rejoices. This is mostly in Upper Egypt though he says.

I would think that if they were both in on it and he really didn't care much about whether or not she was or was not a virgin then they could just ####### their finger or something and put the blood on the cloth.
