My mother had to send her packet back via 2go to be resealed. It’s a long sad story, but the packet arrived at the embassy on Tuesday. The haven’t booked their trip to the US yet. Has anyone had this done? They went to the embassy Manila, but since she hasn’t booked her trip back to US they told her to go to the ToGo office and mail it. They wouldn’t tell her how long it will take!

Anyone have else recently had to wait for packet to reseal? She is so sad. How long will she be waiting?

Usually about a week after the embassy receives it.

Does she have her CFO sticker in her passport yet?

Thank you for answering!

I don’t know about the sticker. I’ll have to ask her. I will look into it. Fingers crossed the packet will only take a week.

If she needs the CFO sticker, will that take long?

She will be so happy if it only takes a week to get the resealed packet.

What is the age of your mother?  60 and over are exempt from attending the counseling/seminar but registration is required to receive the sticker.  (No appointment necessary)

Your mother will need her passport with visa, a copy of the Immigrant Data Sheet that is attached to the DO NOT OPEN envelope.

Do read and follow the instructions on this page:  http://cfo.gov.ph/rnr-pdos.html

That is true it's always something involving more money to spend to leave the Philippines.

It is something like 400 php but the schedules in Manila are a month or two out.  At least they were when Rose went to the GCP.  Maybe PDOS is more open.

If her mother is 60 or older no counseling required, just stop by to get the sticker  ;)     ... age has its privileges!

I wrote my original post all crazy. This paperwork has us so flustered. My mother is the Sponsor, and her husband, who is under 60 :( is the sponsee. So it's his packet. He doesn't have the sticker.

They are closer to Cebu so fingers crossed they will be able to just show up early on the right day and get in. So much to do! It feels like they will never get to be in the United States. But we're almost done, right? I hope.

I'm sorry to be nosy but what was the reason the packet had to go back to USEM for resealing? Did she open it? Maybe it was torn?

Yes you are!!!  I do believe I read here that Cebu is a walk in seminar. I’m sure someone can answer.

Fingers crossed. They called the office today, but they are closed for Chinese New Year. They will try Monday (Philippine time) and find out. Fingers crossed they get the resealed packet next week and get to go to Cebu for the CFO counseling and sticker as well. It's so close. I will update everyone with what we find out about walk-in for Cebu and how long the resealed package takes in case anyone else wants to know.

Even with Cebu -  Age makes a difference with CFO, 60 years of age and above only need to receive the sticker in the passport after the visa is issued.   If under 60 then the counseling is required before issuing the sticker and with PDOS  you can't scheduling the appt until you have the visa in hand

Cebu is by appt the same as Manila, with a few exceptions.

Is the Embassy open on Monday?  It is President Day in the USA. Federal Holiday in the USA

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.
