Truthout:

... a recent GAO inquiry reveals that about 113,800 contractors working for a variety of federal agencies, including the Pentagon and the General Services Administration, have built up $7.7 billion in unpaid taxes. This matches untidily with a March GAO report saying that more than 21,000 doctors, health professionals or medical suppliers, collecting billions in federal Medicare dollars, simultaneously owed more than $1 billion in federal income taxes.

Don't forget your favorite pets...the illegal aliens. They are blatant tax cheats too. ;)

I say...nail 'em all and make 'em cough up cash, penalties, and interest. I pay...so should they!

Maybe, maybe not.

According to The New York Times, illegal immigrant workers in the U.S. are

providing the Social Security system with a subsidy of as much as $7 billion a year.

"Yet unlike most Americans, who will receive some form of a public pension in

retirement and will be eligible for Medicare as soon as they turn 65…" the

undocumented immigrants will not be entitled to benefits.

Baloney! Haven't you heard of the SS Totalization Agreement that Bush made with Mexico? It is yet another lop-sided example of Bush giving away the country. It has a potential to reward ALL the illegal aliens with Social Security if and when they get their amnesty. They will get credit for the Social Security payments they made using fake and/or stolen Social Security numbers. Do you need any more proof that Bush is a moron?

Screw amnesty and screw illegal aliens! Stop rewarding, enabling, and encouraging these immigration criminals, fence hoppers, and gate crashers! Wise up before it is too late (if it isn't too late already).

I neglected to mention...yes, there are some illegal aliens that pay taxes with fake documents; but there are lots and lots that get paid cash off the books. Overall...illegal aliens take more than they contribute. Lots of studies back that up. There is nothing good about illegal immigration for the bulk of the American people. Their (illegal aliens') presence benefits a small number of crooks that exploit illegal immigration for their own narrow, selfish benefit. And, of course, the illegal aliens themselves benefit too. Illegal immigration benefits the few at the expense of the many. Not very democratic is it? It's more like an oligarchy.

And Halliburton just reloated to Dubai... not that that will chnge their tax paying status .. they don't pay already! They are getting ready to bid on Iran contracts. There is a law that says you cannot work in Iran if you aer an American company. Apparantly they expect there to be a lot of (no bid) contracts coming up in Iran soon :(

Thats right... The unpaid taxes by Illegal immigrants who, if they were tax-paying citizens would most likely be eligible to RECIEVE REFUNDS due to the small amount of $$ they make, are a far bigger problem than Federal Contractors who don't pay taxes on many billions of expenditures. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you weren't a math major in college. Or a math minor. English Lit maybe? Well, you know what they say ... there are 3 kinds of people in the world... those who can count and those who can't!

Incidentally, the adjusted crime rate commited by 1st generation immigrants, legal or not, is about 20% that of natural born Americans.

OK...back to topic.

Does this story surprise me? Not really. It just goes along with the myriad of other shenanigans that seem to be daily fodder in the news showing how incompetent and corrupted our government is on a multitude of levels.

It was a nice read, but no indication that anybody is doing anything about it anytime soon.

My uncle is working for a contractor over in Iraq and he was told if he stayed there for one year the US govt. would not make him pay taxes on the money he earned.

I knew he was a moron way back when he ran for governor of Texas in 1994. I kept saying it; people didn't listen.

This is an idiotic program though. Completely insane.
