Hey guys! My wife is a USC,  So I had my first interview on September 14th i we thought everything was ok the officer said he was gonna do some background checks and make a decision, we received i130 approval a month later but nothing on i485 yet. My medical is expired I know that, now this week I received a package from USCIS a G-56 invitation to come in for an interview addressed to my name as opposed to my wife’s like the first one, The standard list of things to bring, a copy of the medical form and a copy of the affidavit form as well. what should I expect?

G-56 is used to ask for additional evidence. Since you medical is expired so is your affidavit of support as they valid for one year.  Just bring them to field office and your case will likely be approved after that.

Just found it very weird that the g56 says interview on it and there’s a list of documents attached, me and my wife are literally freaking out, the poor thing hasn’t slept well in days, we’re preparing for the worst case which is a stokes interview and we’ve heard such horror stories

When is your interview? Could you please update us when you return from the interview? We had our interview in September as well and nothing has come yet.

Hey since you asked me to update you So I went in for my “2nd interview today” adjusting  officer was super nice handed her the medical and affidavit form, she didn’t really know why I was invited in, looked over my case and said it was a waste of time to go in there, everything looks good and that she will try her best to make a final decision today. Fingers crossed

Thanks for the update. I was told at the infopass that they are waiting to schedule us for a 2nd interview as well. I'd prepare and go with my W2s and new affidavit since the ones we submitted with the application has expired. All together, we are preparing for the worst :( but hope to have a positive experience.

Pls let us know if and when she makes her decision.
