I have a niece who's a jewel smith ... so, we designed our rings with her help and she made them.

I only wear silver so they are both silver, with a rose quarts stone for me, and a small inlay strip for my husband. Rose quarts is the stone of love, and both pieces come from the same bigger piece ... so that even our rings belong together :)

I only wear a thin wedding band in yellow gold. I don't like wearing rings but this one is thin so it's bearable. I prefer white but yellow is traditional in Egypt. My husband wears a silver wedding band.

my fiance has a silver wedding band (engagement now...lol) too.

Does he wear it on his right hand for now? In Egypt, men and women wear their wedding bands on their right hand until they get married.

Maybe I'm "so 1980's", but I have yellow gold rings. The only exception is that the mount of the diamond itself on my engagement ring is platinum, because it's stronger. Since the diamond is a family heirloom on my husbands side, I would hate for it to get lost. I think my rings are very plain compared to most people on here - my wedding band doesn't even have any engravings or patterns, much less being covered with stones!

I find it interesting also that the consensus seems to be that anything less than 2 carats is a small stone. Personally I wouldn't want anything that big - it just looks gaudy to me.

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

Haha totally 80's ;) I agree with the carat comment. I specifically told my SO i wanted something smaller. I have small fingers and the rings with large center stones look aweful on me. He found the PERFECT ring for me though and its only 0.5 carat.

We are both white gold for my engagement and our wedding rings (which I can't WAIT to wear!!! 4 more months we hope!)
