Hi Friends,

So after filing my AOS (I-485) along with I-765 and I-131 in November 2017, I finally got the update that my EAD card is ready and being mailed to me (painful wait of around 150 days). Had a couple of offers in hand and lost a few too due to the infinite time taken for the approval of EAD.I have a few questions and hope someone could help address them.

1. So the EAD card comes along with the AP too? whoever got it is it valid for 1 year or 2 years?

2. The Chicago office timeline for Green Card dates back to Aug 2015, if it really is so back in time would it really takes 2 more years for me to even get a chance to interview for the Green Card?

3. If Yes, do we have to update the EAD once it expires if the Green card application is still pending with USCIS?

Any more information shared in the subject matter would be highly appreciated. Thanks guys!!

It looks like November 2017 EAD filers are finally getting their cards approved. I got notification this morning that my EAD card is approved. At the same time, my I-131 (filed on March 26) was also approved. I guess USCIS didn't see a reason to delay that since the EAD was given a "go-ahead" right??

Hi Everyone,

I am an American citizen and I have filed the Adjustment of Status(AOS) application for my husband in September, 2017. We also applied for EAD/AP (work authorization/advance parole) combo card along with application.

It has been 130 days since our NOA1 (Sep 18th 2017) and my husband and I are starting to worry. Has anyone else taken this long for their EAD/AP?
We have submitted a service request today (Jan 29th 2018) and I was wondering how long does it usually take to hear back from a service request? How long is the processing time now? (We are in Massachusetts).

Thank You guys

Hi,

Did your husband get his EAD already?  Mine is almost 180 days already. I did SR after 90 days and they replied after a month then sent me an RFE and replied to it. May 2, they changed my status to case is ready and to be scheduled for interview. I was hoping they will approve my EAD coz i really need to find a job already. Now i have to wait for a schedule again.

I Filed renewal EAD Nov 10, 2017 and I131 March 26, 2018. They approved both at the same time  and I see they’re sending me a combo card through USPS informed delivery.

Hi Smooch,

my husband's EAD/AP status changed to approved just a few days ago. We are still waiting for it to be mailed to us but at least it is approved and moving forward. And his AOS also changed to "ready to be scheduled for interview" a few days ago.  I think USCIS are just really busy this year so everyone's case took a bit longer than usual. Hang in there! I am sure we will all get EAD/AP card soon! And then GC!

Sep 15th 2017 - application submitted (I130, I131, I765 & I485) -

Sep 18th 2017 - NOA 1 Day 0

Oct 19th 2017 - biometrics done Day 31

Jan 29th 2018 - Service request submitted for EAD/AP card

waiting for EAD/AP combo card :(

My AOS was changed last May 2 to 'Case is ready and to be scheduled for interview. Then yesterday, in my EAD, it says 'New card is being produced' and they will just mail it to me. It didnt say anything that its approved. And my AP, it says 'Appeal is dismissed'. I dont get it if my EAD is really approved. I'll just wait for the mail to come then and see. 😟
