Hello,

I’m currently in the process of finalising my K1 visa (AUS to USA) however it was too sudden!! We hadn’t heard much from them and suddenly I’m told my interview date. I received an email on Tuesday 23rd and my interview is on Tuesday 30th. I wasn’t aware I needed a police check earlier and it’s not enough time to do my medical and get the results back for my interview. Is it okay if I just provide receipts?? I have a receipt for my AFP check and the receptionist said I could use my medical exam receipt until I can send them the results. I’ve also tried emailing to change my interview date but haven’t heard anything! I’m freaking out! :(

I think I would go to the interview on the 30th with your receipts.  Worst case scenario is that they cancel the interview and reschedule......best case scenario is that they allow you to complete the interview, but give you a 221g for missing documents which you can provide to them later.....

just my opinion.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you for the reply :) thats a good way to go about it. I was thinking about doing if they don’t get back to me or reschedule. What’s 221g?

The 221g slip is just a slip of paper explaining that your case can not be approved at the current time.  It also typically lists what you need to provide to them.
