Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I knew a kid in school who had to poo and the teacher wouldnt let him leave the class. unfortunatly he also rode my school bus. this was when i lived in germany and went to the american high school in frankfurt which was 2 hours from the town i lived, so we had a 2 hour bus ride every morning and every afternoon. anywhooo, the boy couldnt go before getting on the bus cuz if you missed the bus you were screwed, so he went to the back of the bus and pulled down his pants and pooed everywhere. and it was the watery poo

He never lived it down thru our high school years, and i wouldnt doubt it if it haunts him still today.

tho he did make the choice to poo on the bus, the teacher also helped him make that choice when she refused to let him go to the bathroom during class.

I too have told my daughter, if she has to go to the bathroom and the teacher wont let her after asking 3 times, get your ####### up and go, if there are probs, my cell is on and ill leave work to come to the school.

let me see if i can play the other side of this. perchance this was a known trouble maker/liar; recent reports of br vandalism; x other reasons why if we knew the whole story that it would be 'justifiable' what the teacher did.

The kid being a smart alek took the teacher's ill advised response to heart and p'ed into the bottle even though he easily could of held it till recess.

I am not a teacher, but I realize they have a tough job. And with kids, especially this kid's age, are looking to push the envelope all of the time, I can see how some folks/teachers can say the wrong things. So maybe all the punishment may be a bit more training. ;) That plus, the principal talk to the kid and mom about going to the bathroom at alloted times.

This is when the parents should be informed of the child's behavior! Teachers nowadays don't do that. They tend to take their career as just hourly jobs, and not careers. That's my observation. The teacher should write a letter informing the parents of their child's behavior.

If I were the principal, after multiple letters sent to the parents, and nothing is done then I would talk to the superintendent to have the student remove from school for causing disturbances, and distracting other kids from learning. That would be a better approach. I am sure the parents of other children would not want some nameless child distracting their kids from learning.

A teacher at Charles M. Goethe Middle School in Sacramento forced an eighth-grade student to urinate in a bottle while in class, the student and his mother said.

Sacramento Unified School District officials said they are investigating the allegation.

The student, 14-year-old Michael Patterson, said he had been drinking a sports drink all morning long, was late for class, but still needed to use the restroom.

Patterson said when he asked to use the restroom the teacher humiliated him and forced him to urinate in his science class while 31 other students turned their heads.

"I had a Gatorade bottle and I thought he was joking with me and he said, 'Go in the corner by the sink,'" Patterson said.

Patterson didn't want to get suspended, face the principal or have to tell his mother he was in trouble, he said.

"I did it," Patterson said. "While I was doing it he yelled, 'It stinks,' and he was laughing about it."

District officials said they are investigating the personnel matter and if the allegations are true, they will take appropriate action.

"I really honestly could not believe it," mother Kelly Jacko said. "I was really upset. I can't even describe how mad I was when I got that phone call."

Patterson said he was allowed to leave class to wash his hands and dispose of the urine-filled bottle. Patterson added that he is now being teased by the other students.

Patterson's mother said she wants his teacher fired.

"I think he owes my mom, my sister and me an apology," Michael Patterson said.

I too would like to play devil's advocate - it seems perfectly OK that this kid had been drinking all morning, arrived late but didn't find time to use the restroom beforehand even though he knew he needed it. No-one can force a child to pee in a bottle. I suspect that this was a disruptive child (why else fear suspension, principal etc. just for going to the restroom). I have taught in school when you have a class of 30+ to have a constant stream (pardon the pun) of kids coming and going to the bathroom IS disruptive to the whole class. I cannot defend the teachers actions ( wonders if they even meant it seriously) but to demand probably an excellent teachers "head to roll" or worse to sue !!!! over an isolated incident seems a little harsh to me ............... a few more FACTS on both sides of the story would not go amiss here before a rush to judgement JMHO

.....or this could have been a child whose parents aren't exactly the best kind. Maybe things aren't so great for him at home and anything, even the tiniest infraction, can unleash the temper of his parent(s). Maybe this kid isn't a trouble maker but a kid who doesn't have a lot of self confidence. There is more than one way (or two) to look at this.

Still, whatever the reason, the teacher shouldn't have the power to keep a kid from using the washroom when needed. Think about it...can YOU work to your full potential if you have to pee? When one of my kids asks to go, I let them go. If the kid is a trouble maker (and I have a couple) I send someone along to monitor. No biggie. Sounds to me as if the teacher is on one huge power trip.

I sometimes don't even get the whole "bathroom break" thing. I attended high school for 6 months in Arizona and we actually had to get a pass from the teacher, a huge yellow card that stated the time we left class and how many minutes we had to go back, so if we were caught walking around with an expired pass we were in trouble.

In Brazil we would get up and say "Teacher, I need to go to the bathroom", then receive a nod and leave the room, sometimes a teacher would say "Can you wait till after this explanation?" or ask us to wait a little. I only ever heard no to those students known to ask to go the bathroom just as an excuse to leave class.
