What the Immigration Officer at the Application Support Center in Aurora showed my wife and I , after entering my wife's Alien Registration Number into  his computer and checked on her Current Status, and showed us on the screen that the last entry in the USCIS system on her was when they issued her temporary green card in April of 2016. He explained that what it indicated to him is that the California Service Center is So Far Behind, that they haven't yet even entered the preliminary data of our petition into the USCIS database. They just collected it, boxed it to 'file later', cashed the check. Until they actually enter our I-751 petitions into the system, they cannot generate the Bar-Code that is on the Biometrics appointment letter. That is why there have been NO Biometrics Appointments issued from CSC in 2018. The petitions (at least ours) have not yet been entered into the system.

The receipt I entered was the one from my extension letter. Anyone else had the same issue or should I be concerned?

I filled I-751 on April 5th and received my one year extension NOA I-797 on April 13th.

Trying to check my case status online and gets a message "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information."

 

Still waiting for my biometric letter and hoping when would I get it

Wrong thread. This is the thread for people who files in January 2018; i.e. 3 months ago. There should be a topic for your cohort (April 2018) - there you can check how far along other people with your filing date are.

Ugh... USCIS processing times status update now has I-751 at VSC estimated for 17.5-19.5 months.

Frustrating news today... following moving house (from one address in Birmingham, AL to another address in Birmingham, AL), I filled out the AR11 to change my address online... and I get a confirmation letter (at the new address) saying that the USCIS has recorded my address changed BUT have now transferred my case to the California Service Center as that's the Service Center with jurisdiction on my case.

 

I'm a bit puzzled as Alabama is under Vermont's jurisdiction, hence why I had to send the I751 there in the first place!

 

Not that it seems to be making much difference right now (as the VSC estimate time has gone up to 17.5-19.5 months anyway) but to have my case moved to the (generally speaking) slower of the two.... not exactly very encouraging!

 

Does anyone know if this is typical when addresses are changed, regardless of where you move to?

Seems maybe they are beginning to transfer VSC cases to the CSC anyway  to "balance workloads" - i.e. make both Service Centers as slow as the other!

Why the hell would they transfer I-751s to CSC given that CSC is backlogged to October (!) 2016? Makes no sense - but who am I to understand USCIS logic...

I filled the I-751 on Jan 6th.

NOA date is 01/10/2018

 

California Service Center has my case but I'm not able to check for  updates and the system shows a validation error:  

• My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Does somebody here have that kind of message?

Hi Diana&Tim! From what i've seen, everyone here is getting that same message. CSC is super backed up, they're processing cases from November 2016 right now! So the case numbers aren't even in the system, which explains the error message :<

Anybody seen this type of message when checking your case online?

 

”As of April 9, 2018, we completed our review of your fingerprints and are working on your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence...at our Vermont Service Center location.”

 

My husband just got his license renewed again last week. The lady who renewed it for us sent everything through the system and then showed us that his status is marked as ‘Indefinite’.

If you check now online VSC is back to 12 to 15.5 months for ROC.
