Hi guys, I have two doubts regarding some steps I can't locate on the timeline:

When and for who is the biometrics appoinment? I´m the beneficiary and my boyfriend is the petitioner. Is this appointment for me o for him and when it would be (at what point of the timeline).

I've notice a lot of you talk about affidavit of support, what is this document and where it has to be provided? at the I129F filling? I don't get it.

Thanks for the information.

The I-134 is sent in with the 129f petition proving you make 100% of poverty. The Biometrics is after the filing of AOS stage for finger printing and background checks again and it is for the BENEFICARY

Hi!

Ok, so the I34 is the affidavit of support? so it's part of the first step of the process.

And the biometrics is after the Visa approval and once I as beneficiary am at the US?

The i-134 with supporting documents (tax returns, letter from employer, pay stubs etc that proves your spouse can support you) is needed for the interview at the embassy.

Once you enter the US with your K-1 visa you will get married and then file to adjust your status (AOS). The AOS application is yours, you are the applicant, your USC spouse isn't the one adjusting status (for obvious reasons). They will send you a letter with the biometrics appointment, they will take your photo and fingerprints.

There will be another affidavit of support for the AOS part, that form is called i-864 (your spouse has to prove he can support you, again, and this is binding unlike the i-134).

Thanks! this is really helpful, I was reading the i129F instructions and they make it look like the bio metrics appointment is part of the filling process so that makes me confused...

I'm planning to fill in January should we start to get all this i134 supporting documents now? My fiance is about to get a new job after being 5 years in the same one (this has a better payment and benefits) would it be a problem if I bring different documents from the original petition to the interview? (Like if he changes jobs after the filling).

You do not need to send in the i-134 with the petition. The beneficiary ( you in this case) will bring it with you to the interview. Which will most likely be 6+ months at the current pace after you file. Its better to wait until you get closer to the interview to prepare for that, cause they want to know what his income will be at that time, not 6 months before the interview.
