Photos are a very strong piece of evidence that proves a bonefide marriage. I would be very shocked if you don't receive an RFE.  I would HIGHLY suggest sending at least 10 photos.

I disagree, especially when there is strong financial comingling evidence (much more relevant for I-751 than for I-130/485, as in two years lots of commingled finance docs should be available)

Photos can be very easily staged and don't prove really much.

While for I-130/I-485 they may show that there was an actually a wedding, for ROC wedding pics are not needed.

I submitted just a page of pics with my I-751 (4 photos): a work party, a holiday family pic and a couple of trips w friends pics.

Yeah I would think a couple photos would be important.

I believe the photos we sent surely show a bonefide relationship with family and friends. I don’t think you could stage the many places we’ve been together and we issued them cronologically. It would be extremely hard to do that.

And psychology says the human mind is very picture oriented. Any human feels more sympathy for visuals, therefore even though it’s not required, it definitely helps!

I guess I'll be a test case... lol... I'll report back if I get RFE'd and how our case goes.

I read an interview with a former USCIS person who worked with these applications and he said photos really aren't what they are looking for.  They can be staged and only

prove you were together for that moment in time.  They are much more interested in comingling your financial lives and proof of that.  In a fake marriage you probably wouldn't

risk putting the spouses name on a deed or as a beneficiary on life insurance or pay for health insurance...

I will let you know what happens.

Thanks

I think what many people forget is that each situation and case is unique. I tend to think that immigration officers work a bit like admissions officers at ivy league schools. They look at each case holistically. Just because an applicant doesn't have a perfect SAT score does not mean that an applicant will be rejected or waitlisted. Similarly here, just because you do not send photos does not mean you will be rejected or RFEd, if there is other convincing evidence of good faith marriage.

I also believe that RFEs are very common. Immigration is bureaucracy, they need to have documents to back up their decision. RFEs help them collect documents/evidence they need.

Been checking the mail everyday this week, and finally it arrived!  The letter was dated dec 19, so it arrived 3 weeks after.  Also the check was cleared today as well.

I hope everyone else gets their letter soon!

Looks like VSC finally made a batch deposit!  It looks like they deposit every other Friday.

Since mine was the CSC, I think my check was deposited the week before the holidays and it technically cleared the 2nd, so we may have more VSC filers who are having their checks cleared by Monday or Tuesday.  I hope that batch deposit included those who filed the last week of December, too!

Good theory!  This should be noted/pinned somewhere for all the worriers (like myself).

Two things I wanted to share with everyone that we need to update:

  1. Even though we updated my husband's change of address with USCIS, I need to submit the Form I-865 since I am considered a sponsor until his USC
  2. We did not update the address with SSS.  If you are a male required to register with SSS, but don't do so, your N-400, Application for Naturalization, can be denied.
