PHILIPPINE PASSPORT RENEWAL IN LOS ANGELES.

Hello everyone!!! 

 

Does anybody here experienced renewing their Philippines Passport in Los Angeles? :innocent: I understand that you need to appear in person in order for you to get your passport renewed. If you're living in another state, do you still need to appear in person in order to get your NEW passport or can they just send it thru mail (Just need to bring a self addressed envelope)? The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles website is quite confusing about the instructions they posted. It says there, for releasing of passports: Personal Appearance is required. BUT then, when I clicked the link about passport renewal it says: "Bring your own self-addressed and postage prepaid USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope as the return envelope when you want the passport/s mailed." So which is which?:innocent::innocent:

  • 18 Months Extension Letter Receipt Date: August 18,2018
  • 18 Months Extension Letter Received: August 25, 2018
  • New Card is being Produced: October 15, 2018
  • Case was Approved: October 16,2018
  • Card was Mailed to me: October 17,2018
  • Card was picked up by the USPS: October 18,2018
  • Card Received/on Hand: October 19,2018

 

N-400 Timeline Las Vegas Field Office:

 

  • Online Application : January 03,2019
  • Biometrics Appointment Scheduled: January 04, 2019
  • Biometrics: January 25, 2019
  • Interview Scheduled: August 16,2019
  • Interview Day: September 23, 2019
  • Approved Application: September 23, 2019

  • Naturalization Day: November 15,2019
  • Passport Applied: November 15,2019 (Regular Processing)

No, they will mail it to you. That's why they tell you to bring the envelope with postage already paid. We did my wife's passport renewal last week. We are having it shipped to my parents house in NC because we are moving from Los Angeles to NC next month.

 

I agree it is confusing so don't worry your not the only one.

Thank you so much! And also, I will report my marriage same day as well. Do I need to bring another self addressed envelope for that? 1 is for passport and 1 is for Report of Marriage? Or i can just do 1 envelope? :)

I renewed mine in NewYork (I live in Florida) but I assume it’s done the same way.

 

You have to be there in person to apply for passport renewal and the envelope is for them to send you the passport when it’s ready instead of you traveling back to the consulate to pick it up.

You'll need an envelope for both processes because they go to different agencies in the Philippines and when they return they will return on a different schedule hence they will not meet up together at the same time for it to be sent to you in one envelope.
