Pulitzer-winning writer apologises for remarks on Trump spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ weight

Horsey wrote that Trump behaves similarly to former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes "when he was stocking the Fox News lineup with blond Barbie dolls in short, tight skirts," adding that Ivanka and Melania Trump "are the the apotheosis of this type."

Then he launched into what has drawn the heaviest criticism:

"By comparison, Sanders looks more like a slightly chunky soccer mom who organizes snacks for the kids' games. Rather than the fake eyelashes and formal dresses she puts on for news briefings, Sanders seems as if she'd be more comfortable in sweats and running shoes."

The second paragraph of the original column ended with a sentence ever-so-slightly echoing the revision to come: "Yet, even if Trump privately wishes he had a supermodel for a press secretary, he is lucky to have Sanders."

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Well he apologized, you think Donnie has the balls to apologize for all of the insults he has put out there for the past two years?

That's the difference between a Pulitzer and the so-called president. You can't buy class, no matter how much money your dad lends you.

Do awards really mean anything nowadays?  I mean Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for participation, aren't all the other awards pretty much the same thing now?

Not really.  If this was reversed, and it was a right wing writer and a DNC spokesperson, the outrage would be deafening.  The simple fact is that this shows there are idiots on all sides and no one can claim the high ground.

The difference is the person on the right wouldn't apologize. Why would they when their own leader can act and behave like a toddler and isn't adult enough to admit or own up to his own mistakes.

And your proof of that is what?  Btw, I find that the MDL doesn't apologize very often either. this apology was actually an anomaly.  Regardless, I would expect a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist to have more integrity before they actually write something.  I guess that is more than we can expect and further denigrates the actual award.

Perhaps but when your own party's leader can behave in such a manner with impunity it is clear those on the right are enabling.

Males you wonder what happened to the LA Times editorial process.

So by that logic all members of the DNC should start swearing like a drunken sailor.
