Has anyone tried to inquire about a case successfully before? Few members of my family filed in February with the same service center and had their interview scheduled a week after their biometrics, so I'm getting concerned about my case as it looks like it's probably being delayed due to the background check

For the people who have access to the old system https://public-prod-elis2.uscis.dhs.gov and the new system https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant.

I am a paper filer with an IOE receipt number. My paper packet got scanned by ELIS system and uploaded in multiple parts to the old system by USCIS ELIS systems few days after receipt. I can access all scanned parts from my paper packet through ELIS old system. The new system is only showing 2 parts are uploaded and are not even valid, the new system is providing an error when I click these 2 parts.

 

My question is for people that have access to both systems. Is there anybody with similar issues between old system and new system when it comes to the USCIS uploaded evidence?

I looked and I see 20 files on the old system and only 1 in the new.

Both the old and new system are showing only one file for me. I can download the file via the old system, but the new system shows me an error. The file I downloaded only had a picture of my green card, but nothing about my application.

I went for an Infopass apppointment today - basically to find out where I am in the system. Yet again my FO in Milwaukee WI is nearly empty (that has been my experience each time I’ve been there over the years, it is not a busy office if you ask me). I told the officer I saw the status message saying “USCIS has scheduled your interview and will mail you the appointment notice” since January 2018. First thing he did was to confirm if indeed a letter had been prepared/mailed to me. None. 

He had a colleague who seemed to have higher authorization to view cases in depth, she searched through the system and confirmed what we all know here on VJ already - that message simply indicates we are in-line for interview scheduling. 

She did say I could get an interview date any day now as I’m way up on the list but it isn’t up to a person but the computer system, which makes the selection. Both officers expressed frustration with the new computer system which has been running for 1 year now and the backlog of cases nationwide which they say runs parallel with the previous paper-filer record system. 

I was told within a week or two I should get scheduled if not then I should check back in a month.

No, you can’t do anything to fast track getting your interview scheduled. And Yes, I asked. 😀

My local office is also the Milwaukee WI one. It just seems so slow compared to other offices... I wonder where you saw the "USCIS has scheduled your interview and will mail you the appointment notice" message. the new system or the old one? Cuz i also see that message in the old system but I cannot access to the new one due to the 2 factor authentication thingy. I really hope that message in the old system mean i am in line for interview.. cuz this is taking too long!!

I saw it on the old system plus when I sent an inquiry email on Jan 4th I got a reply essentially saying I had been entered into the system that assigns interviews in Milwaukee. This is 2 months later and still nothing. 

I agree it’s taking too long, the average has been 5 months from application to oath taking for my friends who paper-filed in 2015 and 2017.

I wonder if I could send an inquiry email in the old system. I just saw that status message in the old system and not sure if it is accurate. My friends too but they filed in Boston and I am assuming Milwaukee is one of the slowest one in the US? 

 

I just checked the new system too. The estimated time was May 2019 and now it is June 2019....

r060106 in the August 2017 group completed hers in less than 5 months plus with what I’ve heard in the past - I wouldn’t classify Milwaukee one of the slowest, just waaaaaayyyy slower than usual. Hang in there, that’s all we can do, right? 😁

Thanks for taking the trip to the FO and sharing. Hopefully we’ll hear something soon. Milwaukee is usually faster. I just can’t understand why when they’re empty most of the time.🙈
