Hello!

I just lost my green card and I only have a copy of the front of it.

I was thinking of writting a letter explaining that I lost my green card and that I only have a copy of the front of it. And send the I-751 like that.

Is that my best move? What else would you guys recommend me doing??

I appreciate any help!

Yes, there's not much more you can do... even if you filed an I-90 to get a new green card they likely wouldn't get to your application before the expiry date of the original card and of course they won't issue a new card if it's already expired.

You should file a police report, which may come in handy for a i551 stamp/ or look into filing i-90 if money is not an issue.

Send a cover letter with your i751 pkg explaining what happened.

This happened to me right before filing only mine was stolen.  Firstly,  you need to get a police report, secondly do NOT file for an i-90 as what will happen is you will apply for it, it takes around 5 to 7 months and by the time you receive it, it will be out of date, plus your application for ROC will cancel it out and there could be a lot of confusion.

You need to explain your situation to them with a police report, then you need to make an info pass and get an i55i stamp.  Do not wait until the lost GC is out of date, you can get one immediately.  Now the thing that happened to me is that I needed a stamp and was refused and told to do an i-90 but it tells you in the instructions not to do this, if you are applying for ROC.  My husband wrote a complaint letter to the manager of the field office and they asked me to come in for the i55i stamp I had been refused and I got my i55i stamp without having to pay for an i-90.  Not every field officer is up to date on the procedure and that you are allowed a stamp, so if refused you need to find the name of the manager of the field office and write a complaint.  They have to respond to complaints in a timely and orderly manner.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(
