So nobody know's if the ole x2 round tripper works?

Just have patient and buy the ticket once the visa is hand.  If you buy it early then if it can go wrong it probably will, just the nature of the beast.

You can then do the roundtrip vs one way and see if there is a price difference.  Too many variables in getting a visa that is outside of your control to book a ticket before visa arrives.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Who said anything about not having a visa? I got airline tickets thru delta via travelocity. For some reason the tickets were way more expensive on Delta's site. I just did my round trip and her a one way. I still need to call Delta so our seat's will be together. Her ticket was more than mine.

I didn't read every thread.

I have had great luck with Delta making seats work,  and if all else fails usually the Flight Attendent can make something work on the flight. This time of year is probably the lowest season for people traveling to and from PI

That is good to know. It did seem a little bit more calm when looking at flights and hotels.

As many have said already getting into Japan with a Philippine passport is next to impossible.. about the same as getting a tourist visa to the USA ;)

This is not really true, particularly with the effort that the Japanese government has been making in recent years to bolster tourism.

As an anecdote, 5 years ago my filipina wife (girlfriend at the time) had absolutely no trouble getting a japanese tourism visa (sponsored by myself while I was still in the process of divorcing my ex). That also being said, she sailed through a US B1 and had visa in hand in under a week as well.
