Hi friends. I need your help.

Actually I came here on marriage basis three years ago. My husband is citizen. I want to know if I can apply for citizenship without ten years green card. I had cri visa for me and my son. After years I got extension letter for one year. After anothher one year I got stamps on our passpoets. Imigration office said that I will recieve my ten years green card before the visa expired but he did not tell how much time it will take. I asked earlier here on visajourney friends they said that after three years I can apply for citizenship without ten years green card. Now it is three years passed. I asked to my agent if I can apply without my green cards. He said that you cannot without green cards. I want to be make sure if i can apply for citizenship or not. If yes I do not know the procedure. Please help me.

Thank you

Has your husband been a USC for three years.  If so you can apply for citizenship and that application forces them to decide on the removal of conditions.  You won't be given USC without successful removal of conditions but you can apply while the removal of conditions in still in process.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

First thing to verify: You must apply N-751 before you can apply for N-400. It means N-751 must be in process like NigeriaorBust says, your N-400 will force the USCIS make decision on N-751. After your I-751 is successfully approved, and your N-400 is also approved, it won't produce your 10 years Green Card but will send you to the Naturalization Ceremony instead.

For your question, about the procedure and what to submit:

USCIS provides a complete Document Checklist, which is available on this link: https://www.uscis.gov/n-400

This Document Checklist will tell you what you need to submit. It is very helpful.

Good luck with your journey, and don't forget to update us about your progress in the topic below if you applied on October 2017:

Or if you planned to apply in November 2017, a new progress report will be generated on approx. November 1st 2017.

I am thinking by you saying you have an extension letter that you have already applied for ROC?  If you have applied for removal of conditions on your GC and are now in the time frame to apply for N400, then you can apply for it with or without your 10 year card.  You need to look at your conditional GC and go from the date on the card plus 3 years, then subtract 90 days,  to find out when you can apply for Naturalization.   Once you apply for your N400 this might speed up your process for the 10 year card. They might be adjudicated together.

I would probably read threads on removal of conditions to see how the people who are still waiting for their 10 year card, but also filing for N400 get around the fact that they don't have a copy of their GC to add to the application.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(

USA citizen as of 25th of July 2018. :)
