Two weeks after the interview, no updates (filed online)

Good morning!

 

I filed my N400 (resident since 2008) on 06/29 online. Everything went very smooth and fast; and my interview was on 09/13 in Atlanta. During the interview their system was up and down due to the storms; so IO said she cannot make a decision today because of the technical issues, but I should be expecting something in the mail within two weeks. Today marks the first day over two weeks (lol, I know - who's counting); and nothing so far.

 

What worries me the most, status of my interview was showing online as "overdue" up until yesterday. I do have a receipt showing I appeared for the interview.  I finally called them today to make sure there is a record of my interview in their system. Phone representative said they do have a record; officer recommended my case for approval; and I should call them again if there is no updates within 90 days.

 

I am worried that there can be some additional documents they need, but my case is sitting in a dusty pile with a sticker "Look at these when the system is back up". One of my friends was interviewed the same day in another state; she received approval on the spot and has a date of her ceremony.

 

I guess I had my hopes too high because my case was moving with an amazing speed and just seeking words of comfort. If you have similar experience, please share.

What does your EGOV and MYUSCIS case statuses both say exactly?

July 21, 2017 (Day 07) -  NOA Receipt received in the mail

Did you speak to an L2 officer, or the regular customer service rep?  

If just the regular service person, call back and request to speak with an L2 who can look into the personal details of your case and let you know if any letter has been mailed out by them, where your status stands right now,  etc.

I spoke to a regular CS rep. Thank you for the suggestion. I will do it on Monday or later today.  Last time I had to call, it was still INS, and it was impossible to reach anyone. Time flies :)

in rare cases, the regular phone rep will give you a  hassle over your transfer request.  If this happens, keep requesting it to him/her, or consider the luxury of just hanging up, calling back and requesting the transfer from the next person who answers the phone :)

Nope, no problem with the transfer request whatsoever, but I had to leave a callback # for L2; they did not have an option for me to wait on hold. 33 minutes is the estimate time for an officer to call back. We shall see :)

UPDATE:

L2 officer looked at my case. Sep. 13th interview I did show up for (and have a stamped receipt to prove it)  is still noted as "pending" in their system, aka I was a no-show. I think I was right and my case was never updated after Atlanta recovered from the storms. L2 will notify Atlanta office to let them know the case should be updated.

I got my Oath Letter today and the online system still says: "Interview was scheduled."

They don't even bother to update my status and it makes me nervous for 10 days!

11/28/2016: Eligible for early-filling.

Day 00 - 12/23/2016: Sent N-400 + I-942 to Phoenix, AZ lockbox via USPS.

Day 03 - 12/26/2016: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 25 - 01/17/2017: Sent email to support regards to application.

Day 26 - 01/18/2017: N-400 rejected because incorrect payment amount.

Day 32 - 01/24/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent.

Day 34 - 01/26/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 49 - 02/10/2017: N-400 rejected again because incorrect payment amount.

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: Email form USCIS support responded package was rejected in error (!?) for the first and second time submissions, they requested 3rd resubmission + tracking number in order to apply my earliest priority date. 

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent on the same day, also sent a response to Lockbox to provide information to USCIS.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
