Administrative processing and missing documents request

I am very confused now. About a week ago, my fiance had his interview and was told that he was missing some documents (which I have sent to the USCIS but for some reasons the embassy said they do not have them) and asked him to come back with the documents on Sunday or Tuesday after 2pm. A day after, I received an email asking me to fill up a questionnaire for the administrative processing. After I emailed the questionnarie back, I received an email response saying that they have received the documents and that it may take several weeks to process and at the meantime, they said to follow any additional instructions from the officer at the embassy. So, yesterday my fiance went to the embassy to submit the requested missing documents and was told that he must wait until the administrative processing is cleared and then he can send the documents. My concern is that on the email sent to me, it said that administrative processing will start after the interview and after the missing documents has been submitted. So, should I wait until I received an email and then send the requested missing documents or should I send the documents now?? Thank you for any enlightment.
