You have to be patient.  I sent in my application on 2/28 and have been in line since 3/28.  I just received a notice on 8/23 that my interview has been scheduled.

Be patient. We sent ours in Nov. 2016 and sat in that status until last week (8 months of waiting).  Many people have been waiting even longer than that.

It all depends on how busy the local office is, so try not to stress. I know that is easier said than done.  😎

Best wishes!

It's hard to wait, especially when some cases move faster than others.  Sometimes it depends on the field office, sometimes it's just luck of the draw, I suppose.

I suppose you could always call the help line and request to speak to an L2 officer about your status...it may help, may not.

The L2 officer will just tell you to wait as the file has not been sent over to the local office and is still at the NBC. Only one word Patience. Atlanta is notorious for long delays for N400.

Not always the case---sometimes they can be quite helpful.  It's at least worth a shot and see what they say to the OP.

Luckily, I've always had good experiences with requesting info/updates from L2 officers in regards to my N400 application.

It does not hurt calling them. But they will likely not be of any help. They don't have the ability to schedule interviews. Local office schedules interviews when NBC sends the file over.

They don't have the ability to schedule interviews, but from my experience they do have the ability to push things forward.  The first time I requested to speak to an L2 was the day after I received my receipt letter, asking about when the biometrics appointment would be.  The second time was the day after my biometrics asking about my background check and how long it might take, and the third time was the day my case status updated to "we will mail you an appointment letter" asking when the actual letter would be mailed out.   I do believe that my case moved a bit quicker in part because of how often I was calling and requesting assistance/info from the L2, considering NY is known for being notoriously slower, but of course that is only my speculation by my own timeline below.

Up to the OP of course---like I said, it's at least worth a shot and see if it helps.
