Just curious for those of you whose SO lives in the Middle East, what is the regular time you talk to him/her?

We have a set time for 7pm each night but I feel sooooooooooooooooooooooo bad that he has to be up at that hour!!! Luckily he doesn't start work until like 1pm so he does get "some" sleep. I have asked him to make it every other day (thought it would KILL me), but he insists on at least hearing my voice each day.

Said and I talk several times a day. He calls to wake me at 7am (noon his time), then we usually talk again around my lunch time noonish (5ish pm his time) - if we can see each other online at that time, we do. If I have a break around 3 or 4pm (8 or 9pm his time), we visit online, if not, I call him when I finish work - usually around 6ish my time. Then if I go out or work or do anything that I might get home late, I send a text msg so he knows I got home ok. On weekends if I'm not working or attending a workshop, it's a free-for-all... we talk whenever and usually see each other online for awhile.

It's never enough.... but I *do* love our "lunch dates" online.... (L)

My Love calls me every morning to wake me up. We meet online via msn/yahoo with cam/microphone anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours before my shift starts. My work schedule changes weekly so we adjust to it's needs. When I arrive home sometimes it's 11:00pm for him sometimes it's 5:00 am for him. It never matters what time I arrive he and I will talk until it's time for us to go to bed. I changed my cell phone to Cingular just so I could recieve/send text to my darling husband during the day or night..I text him frequently. He calls me minimum once during work. I call him when I arrive home to let him know I'm home and usually again right before I fall asleep. If anything happens that I need to talk to him about I call him or text him and we can find a solution together for the issue. Then of coarse there are my free days where I don't have to work at all and we get to spend the entire day talking and hanging out online. These are my favorite days. LOL Really. life with Farid is such sweet pleasure!

I know Egypt is different but are they able to get Cingular there? He currently does not have a cell phone but I have Cingular and could more cheaply add him to my plan if that would work/

When Khallid was still in Egypt we would talk at many different times. Since he would always go to bed around 4:00 am his time we were almost on the same sleep pattern. :D We talked to each other 5 or more times a day for over a year.....I'm soooo glad to get rid of that phone bill! :P

They don't have Cingular there. :( I have Cingular and when I was there in February, my phone automatically switched over to MobilNil (something like that) and Vodafone. My phone bill was TERRIBLE and I called home for a total of maybe 30 minutes. I had even got the cheaper rate for calling international before I left to go there. I always used www.PINGO.com or www.gorillamobile.com. I'm always on my cell phone and not always around a computer for skype and other computer communication. With these I could use my cell phone and it only used minutes from my plan and I didn't have the terrible international rates. :dancing:

Asalam Alikoum everybody. Ki Dayra?

I actually just got vonage, but my phone bill is still crazy, its $85 in international calls. It would be just delightful if I wasnt calling morocco so much. I'd love a $25 phone on a regular basis, but that wont happen until he gets here. Its 25cents/min with vonage to call morocco. Compared to comcast at 50 cents/min. It beat my cell phone bill @3.99 per minute, which is why I dont have that # anymore. I use calling cards. $3 ones for 30 minutes, still a rip off cuz it aint even 30 "real" minutes. I had unlimited text messaging from my phone, but that didnt help cuz he could only text me from the computer. Not from his phone. So whats up with that cingular?

Is it really this hard to talk to them? Goodness....

Libragodes, what kind of fone is your honey using, plz? Is he calling you from his computer, a landline/homefone/cell phone?

We do the skype thing and the webcam too, usually all day on the weekends and early in the mornings during the week. He works nights from 7p-7a so the internet doesn't really even matter by the time I get in the house from work, hes already been at work for 4 hours. That 's when I pick up the phone and call him.

Good thing about vonage I guess, they disable your international calls b4 it gets ridiculously out of hand and I like that cuz I ain't got no stopping sense! :bonk:

Gotsa call 'm yall! I dont how else to put it!

You are so right Noura, it is still never enough! Not even close!

Pray with me Forrest! Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here..... Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far. Far, far away from here!
