Good luck!

You cannot work without a valid and unexpired work permit. You are permitted to file for a renewal of your EAD. They are currently backlogged and are therefore automatically renewing EADs for 180 days once you file (https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/automatic-employment-authorization-document-ead-extension), so you can file soon to avoid it becoming expired. Attach a copy of the I-485's NOA1 instead of payment...there's no fee for it with a pending I-485.

The medical is only be valid for one year, and normally they will issue an RFE for a new one if it is over 1 year when they are ready to adjudicate the I-485. However, I think it's okay for K-1 filers re: this thread:

That said, I hope other members can chime in and confirm the medical question. That thread is from 2015 and I'm not aware of any changes since then, but it's possible something changed. If the interview letter is requesting one, then I would tend to err on the side that it is needed.

You're fine for working then. Since they acknowledged receipt of your application, your existing EAD should be extended by 180 days.

No new editions of the forms need to be filed. If they were valid at the time you filed them, then you're fine (and if not, they wouldn't have accepted the filing anyway).

They aren't necessary. But relationship evidence can be from that time period. I didn't submit any relationship evidence with my I-129F, and only showed it in person at the interview (before it was returned to me).

My interview (if I get one) won't be for the better part of a year still.

You don't have to make a list, but I would encourage it just for organization sake. But for something like relationship evidence, they will request it from you once they want it.

It is a good idea to take as much information as you feel proves the relationship.  AOS from K1 is not as burdensome as the ROC, but I believe it is a good idea to have a copy of your complete immigration record with you at any interview.  I know when my wife and I had our interview we took copies of our K1 package as well as a complete copy of the AOS submission.  We also brought copies of our latest taxes (filed after the initial AOS filing), insurance documents, photos etc.  it is also a good idea to have them as organized as you can.

Beyond that, Good Luck!

P.S.  our AOS interview lasted about 15 minutes or so.

Hi, Would you mind if i ask some questions? I'm having my initial interview for AOS soon, i came here with a K1 visa. I just wanna ask if how will my husband and I can prove that we're  living together when we don't lease or rent because as of now  we stay in the house of my sister in law.me And my husband decided to just move when i'd be  able to get myself a job. Haven't got my ead yet. We thought i'd be able to get it first then get myself a job , but then my interview will come first cause it will be in a month. Will it be ok if we just have my sister in law file a sworn statement that we're living in their house? Will joint account and phone bills will be enough? As well as my husbands irs and incomd tax?  I was added to my husbands insurance but we got a mail that it's not yet their enrollment time and just have to submit the application again by october for me to be added. Another question is that i didn't get any RFE (thank God) but it says in the NOA to bring medical if not submitted, my medical in sealed  we're submitted to the officer in my point of entry, and i already submitted my vaccine worksheet, the thing is my medical expires in september 30 , 10 days before my interview. should i get a new one? Or my medical and vaccination will be good? Hope to get a reply .. thank you.

My husband had his medical exam March 2016.  We filed for AOS November 2016. Our AOS interview was May 2017. His medical had been expired by just 2 months. They never said a word.  I believe as long you have filed for AOS and they have the paperwork prior to the 12 months you're ok.

If it's an issue or brought up at interview they will let you know what to do. I would just wait and see if they say anything.
