Do you (or anyone else here) know how accurate these time tables are? I sent out my package today but did not include the AP. I assumed the AOS would take around 4 months, and since I'm not planning to leave the country during that time i thought what the heck.:D

Now I'm just realizing how processing times vary in AOS... according to the time table my local office (Detroit) only takes a little over 4 Months for the AOS. That would be fine. So now I'm debating wether to send the AP in a seperate letter or just let it be.

I'd say send the AP application as well. Sometimes we may have emergencies to go out of the country and we don;t wanna take risk with anything. Processing differs from case to case. There are people who had interviews within 2 months and there are people who had interview after more than a year !

Filling out all the forms tonight and this weekend for AOS, one requirement listed was copies of state ID, but dmv won't give my husband a State ID without proof we filed for AOS. Did anyone filing beforemail have an issue with this?

So then a state ID is not necessary for AOS?

No a state is not required for AOS. All they need is their Passport Biographical page, Visa Page and I-94.

They seem to overlap, we needed the noa1 for the id, not sure during aos interview

When i first entered the country i applied for the Temp License ( i do have a international driving license but i wanted to get familiarised with the driving rules and all and so went for this) and I did get it until my K-1 visa expired (08/08/2017) anyways its not compulsory to have driving license and State ID for the interview as long as you have your passport with you.

Hi all! Finally got my AOS and EAD filed. Didn't file for AP because I'm 6months pregnant and won't be heading home for a visit for the foreseeable future. We were 4 months late filing my AOS but I'm so relieved it's gone now. Also very relieved I double checked from the paperwork I had originally done in May to see the AOS papers have changed a lot.

So R Mercado signed for our package on August 20, I am waiting as patiently as I can for our NOA now.

Good luck to us all
