Medical Done now What

Hi Guys 

 

Almost at the finish line. Had a couple of questions now that I have done the medical . It went well he said everything was basically ok and had me do a few tests etc. I was asked to come back in 10 days to pick up something to take to the embassy. I am assuming these are the medical results .  However I thought that these were communicated directly to the Embassy. I was under the impression that if there is something wrong with you the panel physician determines that and helps you fix it before you go for the interview.  

 

So my question is that if there is anything wrong with you does the physician let you know or does he just performs the tests and sends the results over to the embassy ( through the person being interviewed ) ? 

I am already stressed about the interview and don't want any random surprises at that time

As for the results for the medical exam, this all depends on how the US Embassy manages the result. There are some countries where the medical results are sent directly to the Embassy and some countries where you take a sealed envelope to the Embassy. Did you get your medical exam done by a facility that you were referred to from the Embassy ? If so, you should be absolutely OK.

 

I strongly recommend contacting the US Embassy to determine how  medical exam results are managed.

I did mine from the authorized physician. I check with him and he says that I have to take the envelope with me 

 

I don't have any existing health conditions however I am Just wondering if something turn up in one of the test would I be informed by the doctor or the american embassy

In Pakistan, you get your medical exam results in 2 days. The medical facility will let yoi know what they found. So, while its true that the US Embassy will let you know if you passed or not... The exact specifics of what you are told depends on how local laws govern discloser of health information and the policies instituted by the US Embassy.

It depends on the clinic and how the results are sent to the embassy/consulate.

Ok. My spouse had her medical done in Islamabad a few days ago. The medical center was able to advise whether the exam passed. So, as u initially stated the result is goliven to you before you leave the medical center

What are the reasons for NOT PASS the medical exam?

For example a 15 years ago Spine Surgery could be a reason for denial. (This is my case)

Does anyone know a case or there is any post in the forum about this?

No that is not a reason to fail.
