A single father-of-two proposed to an American woman he met on the internet four minutes after flying 4,000 miles to see her for the first time.

Carl Dockings, 36, from Newport, south Wales, popped the question to Danielle at Chicago's O'Hare Airport after the pair met playing cards on the internet.

The 26-year-old said "yes" and the couple were married four months later.

Hey, I guess one can know that it's right, even that fast. I didn't read the article  but how long did they talk online before meeting? That might take into account the quick proposal...and acceptance. :)

"We were chatting and emailing and playing cards for about 10 months."

Just another NetLove... awwwww happy journey to the two ...

I didnt catch.. if she moved to UK or he did the VJ thingy here.. ..

well, I knew the minute I first saw my hubby that I wanted to marry him :) ... we had been chatting online and talking on the phone about 8 months before we met in person....

He asked to marry me about 3 weeks later when he came up to Canada to see me... of course we didn't get married until about 1 and 1/2 years later...

Wow! That was fast.

For me and Luis, although we knew there was something special about it all, waited a bit less than 3 years of flights to each other's country to get engaged, and were online friends/something extra 1 1/2 years prior to the first meeting.

I wonder if he would have proposed so quickly if she weighed 400 pounds and was ugly. ;)

I only say because this exact thing happened to a mate of mine, he rushed over to the USA to propose the minute he first met his online love, but when he met her at the airport quickly found out that the pictures she'd been sending him were not of herself! He spent 2 lovely weeks in the USA avoiding her then returned to the UK, never to talk to her again!

Love definitely wasn't blind!

Somebody just wanted a green card.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
