I'm just not sure where their numbers even came from. It's as if I said 93.7% of democrats have no brain. I mean would that really help anything?

You are not sure where Christie's poll numbers come from?

It was from his recent job approval numbers, 89% of Republicans approve the job he is doing right now.

The only thing I could find with that figure is this:

http://deadstate.org/89-of-republicans-trust-trump-more-than-cnn/

Whether it is that or his approval rating, I'm still not sure how that means they find the traits you mentioned to be appealing. Can you not approve of someone's job without appreciating their personality?

No, I wouldn't say, this election kind of reminds me of the UK election back in 1992 when labour were leading in the polls and the conservatives came up with a surprising victory. Studies shown afterwards that a lot of voters were ashamed to admit that they were going to vote conservative.

Same happened here, a lot of people didn't want to admit they were going to vote for Trump because they were ashamed. Polling for popular vote is very accurate but you're always going to have more error on a state by state basis. Polls were pretty much there popular wise but were way out in the Midwest.

Considering the president is elected on a state by state basis, it seems that he DNC should have been paying more attention to those than nationwide polls.  Also, considering the negative effects of telling a pollster in a nationwide poll you might be supporting Trump, that to me makes these polls worthless since there is no way to tell if the person is being deceptive out of shame, or just telling a pollster what they want to hear.  I know when I get called for a political poll, I just make stuff up to play with them.
