Hi WiiGii!

Congrats on on your interview. I am on the same boat waiting for an interview in Khartoum. I got CC 6/8 and no interview scheduled yet. As you mentioned it seems that they are backlogged.

How can I get my case expediated?

Hi Sudan 215,

Thank you brother.

You need to meet the special criteria for an expedite, medical emergency, safety concerns and life threatening situation.

Ours was a medical condition for my 8 month old daughter, however, with the exclusion of all other visa applicants due to the EO and the supreme court decision i think most of the immediate family cases moving a bit quicker and faster.

Good luck

My husband has two passports. He had a different one when we filled out the DS-260 and then had to get a new passport with my name on it to get the PCC. So the DS-260 has the old passport information and the profile on the consulates website where I scheduled the interview has the new passport information. Can this possibly be a problem?

No it won't.

It was the same as my husband's.

He had to get a new passport for his medicals and the old one had the details for the ds260.

At the Interview , they just requested for the new one.

Hey everyone...

Does anyone know what 'ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING'

 means ?

Showing on ceac case status?

Hi Ayo,

Administrative  processing, also known as  Security  Advisory  Opinion (SAO), is  the  time period during  which visa  applications  undergo additional  review  outside  of  the  “normal” visa  processing  times.  Administrative processing  takes  place after  the visa interview. Before  issuing  a visa,  consular  officers  review  different  databases  to  determine  if information  exists  that may  impact individual  eligibility  for  a  visa.  A  “hit”  on  a  particular database occurs  when  there is  a match  between  the visa applicant  and  a database.  These hits  may  be  based on  criminal  convictions, security  risks, and prior  visa  overstays  or denials  (this  list is  non-exhaustive).  When an  individual  case  has  been tagged in a database,  the Department  of  State, at  the  request  of  the  consular  post, may  initiate administrative  processing.

Will do :) From what I've heard, the interview's pretty straightforward. Have you gotten your case complete email yet?

I got my CC email just now! Just says to wait on an interview date and I'll be notified. Does anybody know what 'preference category: EW' means?

No, I am employment based green card sponsorship, category EB-3. Was just wondering what it meant by preference.

It identifies your visa category.  For example, spouses of US Citizens would be considered first preference category and those of LPRs are considered second preference category.

EB3 is identified as the third employment preference category:
