Sessions should have asked help from psychologist to help him with his body language during the deposition. The body language is all wrong.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/13/us/politics/jeff-sessions-senate-trump.html

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Jeff Sessions offered an indignant defense on Tuesday against what he called “an appalling and detestable lie” that he may have colluded with the Russian effort to interfere in the 2016 election, but he declined during an often contentious Senate hearing to answer central questions about his or President Trump’s conduct.

Sounding by turns wounded and defiant, Mr. Sessions, a former senator from Alabama, often infused his testimony with more emotion than specifics as he showcased his loyalty to Mr. Trump. He insisted repeatedly that discussing his private conversations with the president, however relevant they might be, would be “inappropriate,” visibly frustrating senators who have been conducting one of several inquiries into Russia’s election meddling.

Mr. Sessions cast his recusal from Russia-related investigations as a mere procedural matter stemming from his status as a prominent Trump campaign surrogate last year, and not a product of any wrongdoing. When Mr. Sessions removed himself in March, he was facing blistering criticism over previously undisclosed contacts with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

“I recused myself from any investigation into the campaign for president,” he told the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday, in what was the latest highly charged congressional hearing of the Trump age. “I did not recuse myself from defending my honor against scurrilous and false allegations.”

Can I ask a serious question?  If the Democrats were so concerned with Sessions' ties to Russia and possible collusion, why did they only ask him questions they knew he would not answer?  Are they attempting to keep alive a narrative?  I think it was a GOP senator that actually asked a question about collusion.

I have no doubt they are trying to keep the story alive and relevant as long as they can. While I think there is some smoke there, I also think they are digging everywhere trying to find that next nugget.

Yes, gotta love a good political narrative pushed by fiction.

He met with the Russian ambassador as a Senator. Many Senators meet with the Russian ambassador. He was asked if he met with the Russians in connection with the election and honestly answered no. He was then falsely accused of lying because he met with them in his capacity as a Senator which he was never asked about. Leave it to the N.Y. slimes to regurgitate a false controversy that has been thoroughly debunked. No wonder why their readership is plummeting. All they have left now are extreme left wingers who eat every lie they spew and ask for more.

His answer was not honest, nor was he falsely accused of lying. He lied and was caught in it. He should have fessed up and moved on, instead of doubling down, and getting grilled by congress.

Everyone remembers the color of the stitching of the underwear they were wearing when they met anyone from the Rezidentura. These meetings are not casual, and they are not brushed off as incidental.

Trying to explain logic to those in the MDL is like banging your head against the wall as it takes critical thinking skills and doesn't fit their narrative(s).

Here is the transcript between Sen Fraken and Jeff Sessions. Where was he asked about he himself meeting with the Russians?

What did Al Franken ask Jeff Sessions during his confirmation hearing?

"He asked me a rambling question that included dramatic, new allegations that the United States intelligence community had advised President-elect Trump that 'there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump's surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government,'" Sessions said during his opening statement. "I was taken aback by these explosive allegations, which he said were being reported in breaking news that day."

In case you were wondering what was said during Sessions' confirmation hearing with the Senate Judiciary Committee back in January, here's the transcript:

Sen. Al Franken: CNN has just published a story and I'm telling you this about a news story that's just been published. I'm not expecting you to know whether or not it's true or not. But CNN just published a story alleging that the intelligence community provided documents to the president-elect last week that included information that quote, "Russian operatives claimed to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump." These documents also allegedly say quote, "There was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump's surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government."

ADVERTISING
Now, again, I'm telling you this as it's coming out, so you know. But if it's true, it's obviously extremely serious and if there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?

Then-Sen. Jeff Sessions: Senator Franken, I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I didn't have — did not have communications with the Russians, and I'm unable to comment on it.

Franken: Very well. Without divulging sensitive information, do you know about this or know what compromising personal and financial information the Russians claim to have?

Sessions: Senator Franken, allegations get made about candidates all the time and they've been made about president-elect Trump a lot sometimes. Most of them, virtually all of them have been proven to be exaggerated and untrue. I would just say to you that I have no information about this matter. I have not been in on the classified briefings and I'm not a member of the intelligence committee, and I'm just not able to give you any comment on it at this time.
