My husbands case was returned to the embassy in Ghana after being reaffirmed after a denial in September 2015.  His case has been sitting in AP, having been touched only twice.  Does anyone have experience with trying to get information from the embassy on the status of AP cases.

Is it worth the aggravation to contact them, or will they simply tell me it's in AP and to wait.

Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks.

I will say call them, email them. You never know what info you might get by doing so. Maybe they've sent the interview letter . Who knows? But when you call, at least someone can tell you something.

Please make your statement clear so others in the same boat with you can give you their info. Your husband reaffirmed case was returned when???? You only said wen he was denied and never mentioned wen this reaffirmation happened and wen it was sent to the nvc and wen the nvc told you they sent it to the embassy. Wen the nvc send the case file to the embassy they will notify you with a letter. Did you get such letter and wen was that??

Ok, sure.  My husband was denied on a CR1 in Sept. 2015.  His case was finally reaffirmed by USCIS in December 2016.  It was sent back to the embassy in late December 2016, but the embassy did not even touch it until March 2017.  That was the first time touched.  The second and final so far, time touched was late April 2017.  It is now the end of May 2017 and it has not been touched again, nor have we heard anything about a second interview or other information.  Hope this clears things up for you.  It seems we should be hearing something, as others in the same situation have already been told when their second interview will be, but we have not been told anything yet.

Ok so I will tell you is not out of place or abnormal. Ours was reaffirmed in September 2016 and the embassy called us in March 2017. So just look at the gap and know they will call you soon.

Thanks.  Yes, I couldn't believe it but today I sent an email inquiring about my husband's case and the embassy responded almost immediately.  I was shocked.  I got used to waiting a month for a response from them.  I hope this means better things are going on there.  So they told my husband he can come in on Wednesday and pick up his packet.  At least it's some progress.

Hello VJ members, my wife went for her CR1 reaffirmed 2nd interview today Monday 06/05/ 2017, everything went OK except that the CO gave her a checklist to bring a Joint Sponsor I-864 next week Tuesday, but kept our Marriage Certificate, Birth Cert. Police report, Medicals ,some proofs and the 2 passport pictures.

They also asking for Form D-260, which I submitted and it says COMPLETED on their site. Is that possible? I tried to resend it but it won't let me, so what should I do before her next appointment on Tuesday? Help Please, we are close to finishing. And is the JOINT SPONSOR Form the same I-864?
