Joint sponsorship

Hi my husband is petitioning for me for adjustment of status, I needed a joint sponsor so my aunt did it for us. But today I got a letter from uscis stating my aunt can't be a joint sponsor. Who can u use as a joint sponsor

Sure you can use an aunt. The joint sponsor must be either a USC or an LPR, over 18 and residing in the USA. What exactly did the letter say? It wouldn't just say "you can't have this person as a joint sponsor" with no reason why.

It said submit evidence that the household member reside at the same principal address as the sponsor and is related to the sponsor as a spouse, adult child, parent or siblings. 

And in red ink they wrote NO Aunts

What form did u submit for aunt to be co-sponsor.  It sounds like u submitted the wrong I864 form.

That's the form they emailed me, my husband and I did the paper work online and they send us the form that should be used

Which form should she use as  a joint sponsor because I think we might have the incorrect form

the i864, your husband should have file the i864 as the primary sponsor and the aunt another i864 as the joint sponsor

 

plus both the financial evidence and the aunt proof of citizenship or LPR

That's the form my aunt filed i-864 reviewed date 07/20/15..

To be sure it's the correct form it has 8 pages?

Are you sure? because the i864A is the one that the aunt couldn't

file

 

also, on the uscis website there is a newer version, that might be the problem. the uscis.gov website always has the most current form

You need to file a separate i864 stating that they're your joint sponsor.

i864 total 12 pages, you can dowload it on USCIS website.
