Hi @Faith38 - is your timeline correct in the tracker:

Faith38........|07/25/14|04/26|--/--|05/04/17|05/30/17|05/30/17|--/--/--|--/--/--|--/--/--.|Boston, MA....|

Especially your GC date? Yours is the only timeline that seems to buck the rule that you can't be in line for interview prior to 30days before eligibility, so hoping it is not a typo!

Also - looks like you won't be eligible for Oath on your interview date - 7/20. Does your office do same day interviews and will you have to re-schedule?

@MnMJourney yes ! My bio was May 30th and receipt date is 05/4/17. Is there a issue with having a interview before you green card date?

You're very lucky then! And gives others some hope!

Technically there is no problem having your interview before your eligibility date. But one cannot take their oath - essentially naturalizing - prior to their eligibility date. This hasn't been a problem lately - as the agency is tremendously backlogged. A quick search will show instances in the past - some claiming that the officer will not "Approve" the case and send for oath until the eligibility date, but that is debatable. Its only clear that the oath cannot be taken prior to your date.

If Boston doesn't do same day oaths - I don't think you'll have any issue. You're so close, that putting you in line for oath will very likely put you past the threshold.

Either way, good luck!

So I have a question.  I saw yesterday our case status updated to inline for an interview and we would get the interview letter.  So I was thinking it was like the other letters we get and I was expecting it to arrive in the mail in a couple of days, but I guess they don't come that quick, right?  It could take months to get the actual interview letter with the date on it?  I'm not really stressed about it, but I worry of lost mail.  Like when it updates online I keep an eye out for the notices in the mail, but if it could take months to get it, that worries me a bit.

So you'll get another update to your case online before you get the letter - that update will say "on [date] we scheduled your interview" and then the letter will come with the date on it.  But yes, you could be stuck "in line" for a while yet.  In line for an interview basically means that someone looked at your biometrics and that's all good and fine, maybe looked at your case a bit.

Yes what lovelyalex said sums it up. I've seen from the cases I've been tracking that most in my field office get the letter after about 2 months in line and then the interview is a month later . However that is just my field office. Others seem to fly through
