My husband had his biometrics appointment this morning.. and in the craziness that is our life, he didn't make it.. .. It has been a long road to get him here.. finally. And I don't want to lose him.. We're both freaking out over the comment on the appointment that talks about filing it as abandoned if you don't show up for the appointment.  Do you think they'll let him have his appointment if he goes in tomorrow morning ? Please advise..

Not to nitpick, but how did he miss something so important? Always leave TONS of time before any USCIS appointment because you never know what might happen. For my ROC biometrics, they moved their Charleston office, then had two offices on the same road. I went to the first and they told me I had the wrong place and to go down the road. It didn't even have USCIS on it, just some ####### like Information Processing Center in a shopping complex with PayLess Shoe Sources and rubbish around it. I only made it because I arrived over an hour early.

I would try to contact USCIS immediately and schedule an InfoPass appointment.

It was an honest mistake.. We thought it was for the 5th.. until we looked at the letter and realized it had today's date on it.. :(

Go tomorrow, first thing, and see if they will do a late appointment.

Then I'd agree and say go tomorrow and try to explain what happened, and see if they will process you.

We do take immigration seriously.. He did find his passport which I guess we should've posted prior.. It was in the footlocker that had been my dad's.. We looked everywhere else.. just not there.. Secondly... I have nothing to add.. We do not require empathy , just an opinion... Have a nice day.

Just go tomorrow, at the earliest time. Take your  appointment letter, ID.. Usually they let you in. There are a lot of folks here, on VJ, who missed their BIO appointment and then they were successfully let in the next day, some of them - even the next weeks...

Lets us know how it goes, ok?

Good luck!!!

I hope it works out. Uscis are so backed up that a day later on your part will hopefully not mean curtains for your application.

Do let us know how you get on. Best of luck!

how long  did your husband get the work permit?

It wasn't a work permit..  it was a CR-1 AOS biometrics .. All is well.. He called the field office and they let him go the following day.
