I'm not sure if there is a thread for people to post their feelings as well as their emotions. I have to say that I personally struggle with anxiety and OCD, and so, I have to say this whole process really proves it's difficult to go through this when you deal with these two things combined. Maybe you struggle with depression or some other issue, but I just want you to know that you aren't alone. I made this thread for people to post their fears, worries, or concerns and for others like me or you to help support them through their struggles. Sure, we have questions about the process but we also have feelings, and maybe a place to post and vent our thoughts would be great. I am not sure if there is already a thread on this or not, if there is I sincerely apologize, but I have to say I have been extremely worried and overwhelmed that the K1 will get denied and I won't have my man with me. It's a bit of a stretch and it more than likely won't happen, but the fear is rampant. So, whatever feelings or concerns you are having, write them here and I'm sure someone who has struggled with your thoughts can lend a bit of support your way. Maybe they had the same kind of issue or fear you are having. It's always good to get it out there so we know that were overthinking things a bit. Sometimes we simply can't tell if we are overthinking or being realistic. And most of the time, I believe my own fears to be true and then worry it's going to happen.

So, whatever you have to say, let it out here. And I will be here for you, and hopefully many others will be too!

I believe this will really help us through the process more.

P.S. I think I posted this in the wrong spot, so if a moderator can move this in the right spot, that would be great. Sorry!

I think this thread is a great idea! I think we all have a bit of fear/anxiety associated with the visa process, and it's nice to be able to share thoughts with others going through the same thing. K1 denial is a thought that has crossed my mind, though I do think that our case is strong and we should do fine at the interview stage once we get there.

My family and friends keep asking when I will hear any news regarding our petition, and I have to keep telling them I don't know. My fiancé has been very patient, but it can be difficult sometimes because occasionally he will see that I'm upset and frustrated with this process and that makes him upset and emotional. Then I get more upset because I feel I'm upsetting him and then we just have a crying session over Skype together. We always end up laughing about it later and saying that waiting a few more months is nothing when we have a whole lifetime ahead of us. :P

I am going to visit him in 24 days, so that is a positive thing that I've have been looking forward to. :D

That's exactly what I was thinking. Thank you! I just haven't seen a thread on VisaJourney where others get to talk more about the mental strain behind it. It gets overwhelming when were just dealing with the technicalities of the process. We need a way to release some of the tension. K1 denial is one of my biggest fears right now, of course it makes sense. I think I also have a really strong case but for some reason in the back of my mind the fear lingers and I can't get it out of my head. But that is why I like to be here on VisaJourney. I know I not even 1% of the portion of people who apply for a visa, and so many others have gotten approvals so that helps to shed the fear a bit. But I guess the whole interview thing scares me, on top of hearing some horror stories on here. I guess I worry I will be one of the few people who have that issue.

Yeah, that's the sucky part of it! The fact that we have no control and family is pestering us. :) I have the same thing happen. I mean, it's better for them to ask us about how the process is going versus some family members being totally against. A lot of people have that problem where family don't approve of the relationship. Some people will think the beneficiary is just after a green card, but that's obviously not the case in a lot of the situations. But it's good that you have a support system and that you have a fiancee who is there for you. And I completely understand feeling sad because you're upsetting him. I think I load a lot of stress on my fiancee with my fears, and that does make me feel bad too. Knowing you can't just reach out and hug them is difficult. I cry pretty regularly though. I think that it's healthy in this situation. If I don't cry, I'm gonna be bottling up a lot of overwhelming feelings. Just not worth it. But you are so right, I didn't even think about it like that! A lifetime vs. a temporary process. At the end of the day we have pleasure in knowing that this is just temporary.

But that's wonderful! I don't get to see him much, actually, have only seen him once but we spent 3 months together. But you just know when he/she is the one for you. Have a good and safe trip! :)

I'm glad that I could help you out! I completely understand. I wasn't able to find anywhere on VisaJourney to talk about these issues with the process, so I figured might as well make a thread for others like myself. Did you ever check out Afghanistan's Visa Timelines? I find that looking at the timelines and seeing the approvals really helps. It really helped me for Australia, although Australia has high approval rates but I don't know how Afganistan is. I personally just took a look and seen someone was approved. I was sure there are more approvals than denials. Go here if you haven't and take a look when you're feeling anxious. It might dissipate a lot of the stress. I found it helped me.

I too worry about the safety of my fiancee, although yours is very understandable being he's from Afghanistan. My fears are based on nothing but simply delusions that I can't overcome. I have a big fear of abandonment, so when we aren't talking I basically chalk it up to it being he was hurt or killed. And it's quite scary as it causes anxiety and panic attacks for me. And yes, every little thing runs through your mind. You just can't get any peace from it really. I would say my family supports me for the most part, so that's a good thing for me. I'm glad you got the support system! :) But if you ever need to chat, or if you want a friend that knows what you're dealing with, just send me a message on VisaJourney and we can definitely communicate regularly. I can definitely use a friend.

But I also wish you the best of luck with everything. Personally, I think you will be OK but I know that no matter what others say we will still have those little fears. This is an intimidating process. But it will make us stronger.

But I also wish you the best of luck with everything. Personally, I think you will be OK but I know that no matter what others say we will still have those little fears. This is an intimidating process. But it will make us stronger.

I really appreciate taking ur time out to get this information for me😊 it's such a hard process! I just wish it would go quick! I agree so much of what ur saying.. ur mind runs wild and all these bad thoughts start coming in ur head. I hate that feeling.. Everyday is a struggle not being with him. I hate AP! I understand we need it for protection for our country but I wish the process was faster😕 every time the news is on..all I hear about is Afghanistan!  It's so scary to know that the love of my life is there and there's nothing I can do about it. I appreciate everything u told me.. I will definitely message u and the same goes  to u also😉

It's okay. I myself am in great fear of a denial for good reason... just hoping I won't have to worry about filling out a 601-waiver. It would really kill me. But it is a hard process. I hope everything works out for both you and I in the end. I know what you mean. Just try to stay calm, as hard as that is! And I'm glad that I can help you in anyway I can. :) I will talk to you in a message, talk soon!
