Hi everyone, I’m sooo glad I found this group. I am in Houston and I started my AOS April 2017.

When I try to check my case I-485 online. It says.

At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case.

has anyone got this before.

It’s working for me right now. Are you using the new DHS site with two-factor (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/) or the old egov.uscis.gov site?

I am also in Houston ... my PD is April 2017 ... same status.

When you get your interview notice make a post I will do the same. My license will expire this thursday, I am still waiting on EAD renewal. I applied for license renewal and checked the save system and I actually have to wait until it’s expired. I have to go back on friday once is expired so they can issue anothe license for another year.

Good luck! DPS did not help me with my expired license. We went twice ... they are not accepting extension letters.

I submitted my EAD/AP renewal documents 145 days ago ... so still waiting for a miracle to happen.

I just forgot the GC ... maybe by 2020 will get the interview 😂

Is your EAD or previous license expired? If so just go to the DPS and tell them You want to renew it as an applicant for adjustment of status. You have to go prepared, print this and take it with you https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/documents/verifyingLawfulPresence.pdf

This from is from their own website, on page 3 under category applicant for adjustment of status an acceptable document is the form 797 you received when they accepted your I485 form, not the EAD. If EAD is expired tell them that is expired but you want them to check on the SAVE system using your adjustment of status acceptance letter (797). They will do a quick check but they will have to do a second verification. Go home wait for the letter and once you have the letter go back to get your license. I did it the first time and I just did it again, I just received the letter from DPS telling me that they have verified my status. If they don’t know show them the print from that link and ask also to speak to a supervisor. They will try to turn you away but it is allowed under their own rules.

Adding my two cents to reinforce what seal72 said:

We just went through the same process getting a drivers license renewed in Houston when the EAD was about to expire (3 weeks).  It took some assertiveness and persistence to overcome a number of human errors at the DPS, but we eventually got the license renewed for another year based on the pending I-485 status.

Meanwhile, we are on day 166 waiting for the EAD/AP renewal and day 503 waiting for the AOS. At least the DPS is faster than USCIS.

Hello, could you please tell me the DPS office that accepted your documents?

The one in Highway 3 rejected me twice.

Hii,

I applied for my AOS April 2017. My EAD that was issued back then is expiring soon. When applying to renew your EAD, did you have to pay another fee?

No fees required.

Please attached your AOS NOA1 where the fees and biometrics were paid :)

The mega center on Veterans Memorial (address below) worked for us. We just had to wait about two weeks after the first appointment while they did the SAVE verification. Then we went back and applied again and this time got a temporary paper license on the spot. The card came in the mail about two weeks later.

my spouse and i had our AOS interview today. our ISO was very professional, nice and calm. she went thru all our paperwork and asked us some basic questions (where did you meet and how, did you meet their family, when, names, where they live, where do they work, where was your wedding, who was there etc).

i took the medical again as it was more than 6 months since the last one. we also brought for proof of relationship bank statements from joint bank account, phone family plan, our lease, family health & dental plans, travel records, photo albums from our wedding, joint tax return, photos of us with our families and with friends (the officer said they like seeing photos with the couple and groups) and that's about it.

the officer said the interview went well and that we should find out in about a week.

really looking forward to finally getting this much awaited green card!

Hi everyone!

I’m actually an April 2018 filer from Los Angeles. My case has been Ready to be Scheduled for interview since June 2018.

I was wondering if there are any April 2017 filers in here who already had their interview or already scheduled for interview. Thanks!

Yes, the majority of the April 2017 filers have already had their interview. I filed at the end of April 2017 and had my green card interview in July 2017.

You got your interview after three months? Are you from LA too?
