My husband's case was complete at NVC on April 19th. Has anyone else received an interview date from the Embassy in Lagos, Nigeria?

No , i think there is about 3 other people still waiting for interview at this embassy including me. That embassy seems to be scheduling interview dates months out! This is not cool.

It does appear to take a while with Lagos. March 20 CC here, no no date yet. Its very possible your hubby gets a June date though, once they start scheduling, as they stooped scheduling for May at about March 20th, as i know someone with the same CC that got a May 31st interview Date. So fingers crossed

Hi guys!!! It's been a while!

So I entered the US via Los Angeles Airport (LAX) POE two days ago. I didn't have any troubles at all with the immigration. The officer at the counter basically took my packet and passport (and gave back my x-ray CD), then radioed for someone else to come pick me and my husband up and take us to secondary check. I was only asked when we got married--the rest of the time he was inside his tiny room inputting stuff on his computer. After a few minutes he emerged from said room with instructions about green card mail, etc. He gave me a CR1 visa since we haven't been married for two years upon my entry.

I kinda hoped he would say the usual "Welcome to America!" final words, but he didn't which was a bit anti-climactic lol. He mumbled a short "welcome" and we were on our way out.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for interview dates and interviews!

Welcome

maybe bring W2, in case they ask?!

(that's what I did for my interview. Interview Date: Mar. 21st)

Hello I have a question concerning the financial docs. Did you update them or submit the same one you submitted to NVC? I understood you brought the 2016 W2 but what if your w2 and taxes said you made more after filing? We submitted the aos before the last check of December so it would be more after filing correct and more is better correct?

I would suggest to fill a new I-894 with the most updated information (including taxes 2014, 2015 and 2016) and signed by the sponsor along with copies of the W2s, 1099s (if applicable) and all other financial documents (1040 or 2016 IRS transcripts, etc) since tax season ended in April 18th, all this updated documents may be requested by the embassy..I have also requested a new police record as the one at NVC is 6 months old, just in case.

glad to hear it all went well!  I was looking at flights (as my interview is next week and I'll fly basically within a week of my visa arriving) and thought I'd have to allow a 5+ hour layover in LAX .... before flying onto my final destination. But it sounds like it won't take that long, would you say I'm being over the top allowing that long?

Hi! We had a 3-hour layover before our final destination, and it was enough for us. We flew into the airport in the middle of the day (11ish) and we finished all the lining up for luggage and immigration around 1:15PM. I'm not sure if it would take longer though if say you fly in the afternoon or the busy evening...
