Worried about possible Red Flags

Hello there,

 

I recently got married and my wife is planning of filling for visa to move over to the US, to live together. We reading online and we saw things that could be considered as "red flags", I was wondering if any of you were red flagged for any of this.

 

1) She is 5 years older than me.

    I red in a number of places that age gap is considered a red flag.

2)We are an Interracial couple

   She is Casuasian and I am a Canadian Citizen of Indian Background. I read in a number of places that interracial couples are red flags.

3) My parents do not approve of our relationship, and refused to even attend our wedding.

    On the other hand her Sister attended our wedding and we have a letter from her mum.

All this aside we have been together for more than 2 years as a result, we have evidence to back up our relationship

1)We have been together for about 2 and half years
2)Plenty of photos time stamped by Instagram
3) 2 joint bank accounts (in US and Canada)
4) Document of her financial supporting me at one point
5) Plane tickets of US visiting each other
6) Receipt of US having a Dog together (and him flying back and Forth to be with US)
7)Letters from Friends and her Family
8) Tickets of US on a cruise from over a year ago
9) E-mails and Screenshots of our texts

 

We were wondering if these things are enough evidence and if the things mentioned earlier considered a red flag.

It's usually more of a red flag if the woman is older than the man. However, 5 years is not that big of a difference.

I thought the things stated above were red flags, based on my internet research on red flags for CR-1/IR-1.

Financial ties such as your joint accounts and time together (dog, flights and all) creates strong evidence of a bona fide relationship, parents or not.  I'm sure the Visa folks understand that Rome and Juliet situations are bound to occur when it comes to love.  With age gaps, they tend to look for extremes (e.g., 20-30 years).

 

The above won't be red flags and will provide sufficient evidence of a bona fide marriage. Include plenty of photos together, your correspondence, any vacation itineraries with both your names, joint bank information, etc. and you should be fine.  If you have included her as your beneficiary on anything such as insurance, savings plans, investment accounts/retirement funds, it may add to a strong case.

I don't see anything in there that would be a red flag. My wife is 3 years older then me, we're in our mid 30s. I think that's only something that would be scrutinized if it was a larger gap of 10-15+ and one of you would still be relatively young (early 20s). You eventual interview will be in Montreal. Red flags are very much based on the culture of the country in which the interview will take place. E.g in India, weddings are huge, family affairs and so obviously, the family approving of the wedding is very important however, in e.g Sweden, someone getting married without the family approving wouldn't even be brought up in the interview. We've seen people here from India who were denied a visa because their family didn't attend the wedding. But you're Canadian and will go through the US Embassy in Canada so it likely won't be a factor.

 

Five years age difference is pretty normal.

 

You have joint accounts, most going through the spousal process don't.
