Organizing my docs for I-751 ROC Application

Hi All,

I have a silly question and I hope someone can give suggestion or enlightenment if i'm doing the right thing. Is it acceptable to use the flexi view binder from avery with clear page protector for my documents and send to USCIS?  I have attached the picture here.

Any suggestions or comments is highly appreciated.

You can but it is a waste of money. They will just take your documents out and trash it. They need to scan them in to their system. The folder does not stay with your documents.

You just give them more work and yourself also. 

 

They don't want them because they have their own system and they would have to sit and take it all out before they can continue with their work.

 

Just put it in one big pile with coverletter and check on top and you'll be fine.

Thanks, @G Walters I dont mind if they will trash it, I want them to get my application in well organized set up so it will be easier for them to check all the documents.

I like the organizational aspect to the binder but I think the clear page protector is a bit of an overkill. I certainly would not want to annoy the IO working on my case. 

If you insist on using the binder with the clear page protector I would advise you to group "like documents" in a single protector, each with its own cover description. Eg. All joint bank documents in one protector labeled "Banks", all tax transcripts in another labeled "Taxes", etc, etc. 

 

The "big pile" method works without the hassle.

Thank you @Private One will take note of your suggestions. I really appreciated. I also read this link https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-and-fees/general-tips-assembling-applications-mailing and it helps me to have more idea in preparing my application.

Yeah, I would just use a binder clip for everything. Clip the aos and iv packets separate and then one big one for the whole thing.

I agree it is a waste of money.  But if you have the extra money, go ahead.  Play the lottery also.

I sent mine in clear folders, they just took them all out and bind them together themselves when returning as I had originally forgot a piece of evidence. No need to go to all the extra trouble.

For the I-129F and AOS I used the binder clip method as well. I actually used the "tiny" size binder clips for individual sections like "personal documents", "financial", "Marriage evidence" with a small table of contents for each of those sections so they can easily tell what documents are included and where they begin/end (this was mainly for the evidence piece). Then used a big binder clip to binder clip to bind each whole applications together.

 

For our AOS interview I brought in binders documents in individual sleeves thinking they might just glance at it and not collect it all. Well they collected it all and we spent quite a bit of time taking them out of the sleeves. The IO liked my organization for the interview but she said any time something is mailed with sleeves and binders it creates extra work for them and no one likes it. She had our (monsterous) file in front of her and I noticed everything gets two hole punched and placed together. If I had known this before I think I would have tried to condense documents (I mean the binder didnt even close) but I think the binder clip method was definitely a smart route.

That's what I did for my AOS. No need to give them extra work. You can be organized without bunch of binders and plastics covers.
