my interview is scheduled on 5th April 2017 at US embassy Islamabad. I requested them to reschedule my interview as i have to provide a police certificate at the interview which is in process right now. It's been 9 days and we haven't received any email yet. 5th April is just round the corner. What shall we do if the embassy doesn't contact us?

Any help is appreciated

you do NOT need to provide a police certificate

you will not be asked for one, and bringing one will not help your case

you should attend your interview for April 5 and hope the embassy does not cancel it in the meantime since there was no need for you to have rescheduled

They will ask for and require a police certificate for anywhere you have lived longer then 6 months outside the country you are currently applying from.  If you don't have it at the interview they will tell you to go get it and mail it embassy and will put you in AP until they get it.  My wife from Taiwan was required to give one for the 2 semesters she spent in college in England 15 years ago.  She had a clean record with no crimes so the police certificate just shows "no record found".  She didn't have it and we had to rush get one from England and then send it to the embassy in Taiwan.  It was the reason we almost blew away all our wedding and travel plans that we thought we had plenty of buffer time factored into.

Did you submitted it to NVC or not? if Yes,you dont need it then.

If yes then you do not need it there. If its mentioned in your checklist to bring your police certificate and you wont reproduce it, they will put you in Admin. Processing and its quite a long wait.

Lastly anyone can get a police certifcate in a week in pak.

If you lived in Qatar longer than 6 months you will need to get the police certificate from Qatar only, you do not need a Pakistani Police Certificate

Yes you should attend your interview on April 5, if you do not have the Qatari police cert by then you will get a 221g for the missing information, and you will have to send it in via courier after the interview

You do not need a Pakistani police cert, in the case of the OP if she lived in Qatar longer than 6 months she will need to obtain a Qatari police cert

right now the problem is that i already have requested them to reschedule and they have not given any response yet. What shall I do in this case? Since i live in Karachi, I have to fly all the way to islamabad. What if they say thay your interview is cancelled if I get there?

I am sorry to hear you live so far away, if you are so concerned I would suggest having your petitioner contact their representative to get a response on your interview. Please be aware, that in my experience even this response will take a few days and may not come in time for April 5 especially considering April 1 and April 2 are the weekend.

I would still suggest attending the interview. Unfortunately as I stated in my first response, you should not have requested for the interview to be rescheduled. It would be better to get a 221g for missing documentation that you can provide at a later date as opposed to having the Embassy think you want to cancel your application.
