Quick question - currently, my husband and I are waiting for our AOS interview. I got a new driver's license in Feb 2016 with my married name, and my address at the time. My husband and I moved in together in Oct 2016, and he got his drivers license in Dec 2016 with our new, and current address. My question is, should I go and get a new drivers license to ensure that it has the same address as my husbands? (I already changed my address with the DMV and its is updated on my car registration, just my license has my old address). My license doesn't expire for 5 years and I would have to take at least a half day off of work to get it so that is why I am hesitating. We also only moved apartments, so the street address is the same, only the apartment number changed. Not sure if the interviewer would care about this, as I have lots of proof that we do in fact live together in our new apartment (both of our names are on the lease/utilities/etc).

Thanks for the help!

Yes, you should get it updated.

In most (all?) states you're obligated to keep your address current if you have a driver's license or ID card. Here in Texas you're required to update your address at DPS within 30 days of moving to a new, permanent address.

You can copy your license and registration on the same paper and write a note that you updated your new address with the DMV.   I think you will be good either way if you have lots of other proof.  Best wishes!

PS - Did they give you a little change of address card?  I know in Maryland they used to give you a little card to keep with your license.

Yep you are required to update it in colorado as well - which I did, you can do it online and they tell you to then just print out a return address label with your new address and attach it to the back of your license - seems kind of janky but it's legit (https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/dmv/change-your-address) So I am not concerned about the legality because I am up to date with the State and the DMV - I am just wondering if the interviewer will want to see the new address actually printed on the card, or if they are fine with it printed on the back like the DMV says I can do.

I've seen people here post that they were questioned when the addresses didn't match.

Since you have a sticker with your updated address then it shouldn't be an issue for you.
