My wife is telling me that we need to send in and EAD and a I485 for both her and our daughter. Is this correct? The way I see it the daughter (K2) is entered on her I-485 and no need to send in the daughters separate form. As far as the EAD she was told by another K1'er that it is required. I'm not seeing that. Please help on what to send in.

K2 need to adjust their status as well. At the very least an I-485 for both.  EAD and AP is free to file with the AOS so dor your wife you should include those and the AP for your step-daughter.

Correct - both K1s and K2s need to adjust status and need their own separate I-485. Because application for the EAD and AP is free when filed at the same time, you should add those for the K2s - the EAD also allows them to get their own SSN as well.

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

11/09/2013 - I-129F Packet mailed to Dallas Lockbox                                                                                         06/22/2015 - AOS packet mailed to Chicago Lockbox

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

The ROC journey:

10/12/2017 - ROC packet mailed to VSC

01/21/2019 - ROC Approved - there was no interview

The N-400 journey:

02/16/2020 - N-400 application filed online

02/21/2020 - Paper NOA received in the mail

03/13/2020 - Biometrics

02/02/2021 - Interview & test - Approved

I'm filing also for my stepson and he is 8. I am filling out a AP but should i fill out a EAD? He is only 8 but i do want a SS# for him.

That's exactly what I said. You should fill out the EAD too, because it's free and it allows you to get a SSN for your son.
