I know the wait is long. It took us 119 days. We received an RFE. Have you received one?  Just hang in there. It could be any day. I think quitting your job would be a big disadvantage when going any further in your process. Just my opinion. Good luck!

We have not received an RFE or anything. Per Geo's post about 1 - 1.5 months ago there were 32 cases, there are now 20 cases left, the week before last week they worked on 4 bringing it down to 22, this week they worked on 2 cases bringing it down to 20.

Can you take some unpaid leave and go and spend couple of months together there?

I think this is a great idea and has got the wheels turning in my head, thank you for the comment and the idea, this may be something that may work for us!

And if you can wait in Chile together for a CR1, you can do the same for a K1.

Thank you for your comment, I dont know why I thought that I had to be in the United States in order to wait for the K1.. now I know I was mistaken

Not a bad plan, medical expenses and reality of "Post Trump" are thoughts for us to pull out and live here.

Look how meek he is when today he sees Frau Merkel .....LOL.

Life is where you are and many people change their plans, learn Spanish and be back for the next election. Chile is not slow to act and develop: http://www.oecd.org/economy/chile-economic-forecast-summary.htm

There are opportunities and a support network in place so a soft landing and you get to enjoy the culture and life of your partner more deeply ....never a negative

This is kind of my thought in some ways, my fiancee and I have waited 1.5 years to be married now (thanks to Chile's stupidity before, which is a long story, and now waiting on this process), I speak fluent Spanish and I have been to Chile 8 times so its not like I am a stranger to Chile and would be moving to a place thats totally unknown.

I am thinking now that someone suggested the leave of absence, I might be able to request that from my employers. They are pretty flexible and I get "unlimited vacation time" with my job, and now is the slow time so not having to pay me would be in their best interest anyway. Plus the team I manage is already at 91% for next year which is 2 months ahead of last year.

Thanks for sending the economic information.

can't it be done at the US embassy  ? I remember it was available through the US embassy in Romania, we just didn't meet the residency requirement.

I thought I talked with a Chilean attorney here in the United States and she said it was possible in Chile. So unless she was totally mistaken, I dont know. I might have to go talk to her again..

Oh man I remember talking to you in the other thread while we were both waiting :( I'm so sorry to hear that it has taken this long. I know it must be so hard for both of you. But I really think you should stick to the K1 because it's very likely that you'll be approved in the next weeks or at most 2 months. I was really frustrated too while I was waiting for my NOA2 but once that happened the process has been moving along SO MUCH faster and has taken the stress off me because the timeline is now much more predictable than the dreadful NOA2. I am sure there are a lot more things you would need to do that comes with settling in a new country, obtaining residency and finding a job in Chile, if you decide to go that route. Why don't you guys take a short trip together and take your mind off visa stuff for a while? Hang in there! (L)

Thanks for your support! <3 Its greatly appreciated!

Again though, if you go the CR-1 route, what it your plan for reestablishing domicile? Who is going to sponsor him? Do you have a cosponsor, because since you won't be working in the US, if you don't come to the US -MONTHS- before he does, then you won't have enough time working or income to show you can support him.

I do have a few easy and reliable options for reestablishing domicile. I work for a property management company so I can get a lease easily, they will not have to qualify me or anything, then we will have a place to say when we come back. I also have friends that are business owners and they could get me an offer letter, they would let me work there until I found something closer to my field. My parents would sponsor/co-sponsor him because they are just as frustrated with all of this as we are (we've waited 1.5 years to be married between Chilean laws and US laws).

Also just as a second note, have you recieved an RFE?

I noticed in your prior posts that you checked the box saying you were single and wrote annulment above that but the I-129F instructions state

Thanks for your suggestion, I know we haven't received an RFE because I check our case on the USCIS app and it hasn't changed at all from "Case Was Received". I did add the annulment paperwork into the I129F.

fill up your free time doing things you enjoy.

Oh yes, I have been doing this, painting, going to church more, attending more functions etc. but I am starting to get a bit bored with these things even now lol.. I did consider taking on more work just to pass the time a bit more besides my full time job now. I enjoy being very busy and having lots to do, in college I was full time, had 2 part time jobs, an internship and a volunteer group I was the secretary of. I think I just need to be more busy... lol

It's easy to get caught up and depressed watching other cases get approved when they are right before or after your NOA1 date; but people seem to forget the following:
1 - Every case is different

2 - Some countries take longer than others

3 - ITs BUSINESS days, excluding Holidays and weekends! <-- biggest one that people seem to forget - The government does not work on weekends

4 - each case worker has a different case load

5 - every case worker works at a different pace

Geo's generated report is just a guestimate and stated I should have gotten my NOA2, 3-weeks ago; but I didn't toss in the towel because his report was off.  VJ's timeline is a guestimate, they can be off as well.  The only true accurate readings is the USCIS and by following their updates will give you a rough idea.

Not receiving a RFE is good news... remember NO news is good news.  You can travel there and your FF can travel to the states all you want while the case is being processed.  Nothing says you have to stay put.  Just keep gathering your evidence for the interview :)

That's a very valid point. Although, I do get excited when I see another Nov 3rd case worked on even if its not mine! :)
In regards to #5... I believe my case worker may need to have a pay cut for taking their sweet sweet time! (just trying to make light of the situation, haha)

I'd love to bring him here but it makes me really nervous bringing him here if they will deny him entry and then we lose out on the money and both of us become even more frustrated. I feel like its a big risk to take. He doesn't have super great ties to Chile as he works for his sister right now.

You are too nice!  I thought mine needed to be fired LOL

I last saw my FF back in August, we wanted to met again in Dec and again last month but we are putting it off.  That is money saved for our grand trip after the approval :)  *prays*  Been quizzing him every other day.. :P

Both, you and your FF are free to travel while the I-129F petition is in progress.

However, keep a few things in mind:

- Providing the FF is not from the countries with the 90-day hold in place to implement a better vetting system.  "IF" yes, then I would wait.

- "IF" the FF is eligible for the Visa Waiver Program or already has a Tourist Visa (in good standing and will not expire while traveling), as well as their ESTA - Then travel till your hearts content :)

- FF must return for the medical and interview

Both, you and your FF are free to travel while the I-129F petition is in progress.

However, keep a few things in mind:

- Providing the FF is not from the countries with the 90-day hold in place to implement a better vetting system.  "IF" yes, then I would wait.

- "IF" the FF is eligible for the Visa Waiver Program or already has a Tourist Visa (in good standing and will not expire while traveling), as well as their ESTA - Then travel till your hearts content :)

- FF must return for the medical and interview

Right but doesn't he have to provide proof of ties that he will be going back to his country? That's what makes me nervous because his ties to Chile are very slim.

He he does have the ESTA

Ilaz I cannot answer that.  IMHO, if Chile is "very slim" chances, then it would be best that you travel there instead of your FF to travel to the States.
