You don't have to come along, he can do it alone. Tell him to take his PR card, although it is not listed as a requirement on the biometric appintment letter. They've asked to see mine today. All the best!

On my Biometrics appt it stated that family members could NOT attend due to limited space. And they were actually telling people that came to leave the waiting area.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I went with my husband yesterday, and they asked to see his greencard (even though it doesn't say that on the letter). The letter says that people that are helping with transportation could go, so that would be my excuse if they asked why I was there (tom drove, but that's what I would have said!).

Actually, we did not see a single person there by themself.

But no, you dont' have to go at all.

My husband's 2-years-since-marriage-appointment is on Tuesday. Am I expected to show up with him?
You know, if you bothered to read the notice, you would have your answer. It's stated very clearly on the notice.
You don't have to come along, he can do it alone. Tell him to take his PR card, although it is not listed as a requirement on the biometric appintment letter. They've asked to see mine today. All the best!
Again - read the notice. If you read the notice that comes with the PR card, you will see that you are required to carry it with you at all times. This being the case, subsequent notices telling you to bring your PR card to appointments are really not necessary.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Yes, but it specifically points out that applicants for naturalization should bring this card. So that could confuse someone into thinking that it wasn't necessary to bring an expired card.

I DO know that you have to carry the PR card at all times (and I actually do). I was just pointing this out to the OP, because I found it interesting that they would not specifically mention it in the biometrics appointment notice (yet want naturalizatin applicants to bring it); then they ask for it as means of ID when at the office.

My understanding is that at naturalization, they take the card from you because as a citizen, you do not need a PR card any longer, but as a PR, you do.

Yes, but why would they take it at your biometrics appointment, wouldn't they take it once you've had your naturalization interview and ceremony?
