Quick question, I have tax returns 2014-2016.  However, only have my W-2 for 2015 and 2016.  Do I really need to send out my W-2's?

Yes. I would.  Copies of tax returns are not verification that you filed them.  So, I would send in the W2s with them.  It's only a couple more sheets of paper.  Better safe than sorry or an RFE, right?

Otherwise, tax transcripts are preferred as that is verifcation from the IRS.

Hi i just wanna know how long does it take before the tax transcript to be availble and u can request it?

You can request it online or by phone.  It takes 7-10 days to receive by mail.  There is an option to download and print.

Thank you guys! I just went on the website that Lioness provided!  I was able to upload them and print them in a matter of seconds.  So no wait if you request them online!

If you have your tax transcripts that is preferred over the photcopies of the tax return. (see my above comment)

I would still send in the W2s just in case.  It is better to cover all the bases instead of causing a possbile delay with an RFE.

I lost my w2 for 2014.  I have all others.  However, I was able to pull my wages and income transcript from the same website you provided me with.  I believe it is the same as the w-2. So I will be providing all and my tax Returns!

Hey m8, Do these transcripts have an expiration date? I know the info is STATIC so I doubt they'll expire, but I thought I'd ask anyway :) 

Some of these sites will allow you to download the 1st copy for FREE and may charge you if you come back for a 2nd copy!

I also know that USCIS, at times, asks for docs that are 30 or 90 days old from the date of issuance! So I don't want to download a copy now, only to see it expire and have to pay if I want a new copy. Thanks

They don't expire. 

Cateogory: CR1

  • NOA1/Notice of receipt: Sept. 15, 2015
  • NOA2/I130 Approved: February 8, 2016 (NO RFE) :)
  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:
