It's a slow night on VJ - thought I'd take a poll to see if any of you are (or were, wish you were) into motorcycling.

For me - I started out years ago with many different bikes along the way. My current love is BMW sport-bikes - not just because they're made in Berlin ;) They're put together well, comfortable and seem to beckon me to ride for hours...

Curious about your ride, dream bike - previous rides. If you own, do you ride often? In a club? Favorite roads/rides? Does your spouse ride with you (on his/her own bike)? Do you plan to ride together?

(I know someone will say "Motorcycles are not safe" - if ridden properly, with proper safety gear, and a dash of common sense and luck, injuries are few and far between...ride on..)

what once had was nothing more than a weed whacker engine on wheels, 80cc's and just to travel the 2.5 miles to my office from home and back on fair days. since ridded it for a Cannondale racer bicycle.

Never had a motorcycle, though here in the big city its not so good an idea with high traffic, crime and theft rate.

Though a dream bike would be a long limo-chopper or recumbant-like motorbike.

I absolutely love motorcycles, I can't wait to buy me one. Hubby hates them, would never be in one with me  but oh well...

Harley or Honda would be my choices. Honda because I'm used to ride them, they're very common in Brazil (Them and Yamaha, I just don't like Yamaha) and Harley is my dream bike.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Actually it's my husband who owns one.. a 1979 Honda CBX (1100 cc) monster. He wants to get a smaller Honda for me so that we can go cruising. I'm a bit lukewarm about it as I'm not sure I can keep it upright.. LOL.

Here's a picture that I snagged from the net. It's actually a prettier picture as hubby's bike needs a new paint job.

A street-legal dirt-bike (dual-sport) ... when the weather is nice I ride it to the trails, then ride the trails. Mine is a little dirtier and rougher-looking than this, but a whole lotta fun.

I love those - a close friend had one when we were growing up - with the right exhaust, nothing sounds sexier on two (or even 4) wheels.. There's also a pretty big CBX Owners network too.

(it is a bit heavy - something smaller recommended for smaller riders.. )

I don't know how it's viewed here now but all growing up anyone who had a bike other than a Harley was laughed at. They'd never ever dare to ride it in public when everyone else goes riding.

In general, that's not so much the common view - most motorcyclist are pretty accepting of each other. It really depends on a person's sphere of influences (friends, family, income, geographic location sometimes, etc.).

There are still divisions though - not as common as used to be. The term Rice-Burner comes from that division. (Within the non-harley world are divisions too - terms like squids and posers etc...) But there are even divisions within the Harley world as well...the term RUB (rich urban biker) comes out of that..

=) For the most part, today if you ride - all is good..
