I don't know if I have to wait for some more time to hear back from USCIS on my case for AOS (i 485/131/765) from H-1B, my NOA for i-485 was on 01/10/2017 and had my bioimetric done on 01/30/2017 but no updates since then. I am more worried about my AP as I have made travel plans in the month of April (28th)  My other question is since I am on a valid H-1B would I still be able to travel with my H-1B visa or should I wait until I get the AP?

After you have filed for adjustment of status, your visa doesn't matter anymore. Traveling outside the US cancels the whole AOS process, so for your sake I hope you get that AP before then! Cheers.

That is not correct.

One can travel with a valid H1B visa since it allows dual intent.

However, it remains  advisable (but not required) to have an approved advance parole(AP) for back up.

Hypothetically, if the H1B employment is unexpectedly ended while one is still abroad,  the AOS would also be considered abandoned without an AP..

So Keep your travel plans flexible, and be ready to return to USA anytime for AOS interview etc

Okay, good to know. I stand corrected. Personally I would not be comfortable traveling outside the US without an AP in hand in this situation.

Thank you so much for that information. I will keep that in mind while making my travel plan. But I still wonder why is it taking so long for my AP. The long wait continues.

You're most likely pass 90 days now so if I were you I'd call them and have them put in a service request. Tell them that it's urgent.

Just received my approval notices in the mail for my EAD/AP card, dated 3/22

First notice mentions the approval of EAD& AP together for 1-year, while the second notice is the approval notice for the AP alone.

Now I have to wait for the actual card.
