Validity of medical exam and police certificate

Hi all,

I am an American living in London with my Norwegian wife. Our petition has been approved and we are now preparing our documents for the IV application. I have a question about the period of time for which the medical examination and police certificates are valid. I understand the medical examination is valid for six months. I've seen both six and twelve months for the police certificate. My question is:

What happens if my wife's medical exam and police certificate are valid at the time of her interview, but expire before she travels to the US. For example: lets say she gets her medical exam and police certificate in March 2017, so they are valid through September 2017. Then she has her interview in May 2017. But what happens if she plans to travel to the US in October 2017. Can she go get a new medical examination and a new police certificate in June 2017 (for example), so that they will both be valid at the time of her travel? Is it that simple?

her issued visa validity will depends on the date of her medical expires or six months which ever is shorter so needless to say she wont be ask to do another medical since she has to enter before it expires. I am not sure about Police Clearance whether its necessary to be valid from the time of entry, what I know it should be valid during the interview.

I would suggest to delay interview dates when you are not sure when to travel exactly

As long as the police certificate is valid for the interview that's all that matters. Remember she will need a police certificate for every country she's lived in since age 16 for 1 year or more, or her home country or country of residence for 6 months or more. (excluding the USA)

i think 6 months for medical exam and 1 year for police certificate.
